Patriotic Christmas Tree

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ and thank you to all who have sacrificed for our country!!! I was actually going to wait until the Fourth of July to decorate our annual Christmas tree for summer, but I just couldn’t wait to share my “Patriotic Christmas Tree” a little bit early. Memorial Day is also a perfect time for the debut.

REMINDER: I’m giving away my Garden Glove Wreath next week!

Our year long Christmas tree has come a long way since December hasn’t she? Have you seen all of the different versions yet? Here’s the line-up since Christmas. EEK, it almost feels like Christmas is coming back around again…

So, what do you like the most about this American beauty? I absolutely love our American red, white & blue color scheme, and really enjoyed pulling this together with mostly dollar store items. Dollar store wins again!

I originally planned on using the top hat that you see in the middle of the tree for the topper, but when I came across the American flag beach ball at the dollar store ๐Ÿ˜Ž I knew it would be a fun surprise and help the tree stand out from other patriotic trees. It also says SUMMER to me. I just wish I had red, white, and blue beach towels. That would have been really cute.

If you look long enough, you may have noticed I took things a step further and decorated the back ground with an American flag pillow and the American flag metal star.

While decorating I had a little helper join in.

I hope you all have a relaxing long weekend. Stop by next week for the Garden Glove Wreath Giveaway!

  3. Love your Patriotic Trees!! I keep a few decorated Trees up year round and have done so for about 10 years now. Because of that, I stopped calling them Christmas Trees because they are certainly not just for Christmas anymore!!I I refer to them as my Decorated Trees…..

Dear Julie – I do wish you lived next door! I, too, am keeping the tree up all year. It is easier than dragging the box to our attic two flights up. We are greatly enjoying it. I hadnโ€™t thought ahead to the next decor but now Iโ€™ve got it!! I also like the โ€œlittleโ€ additions of pillow and small tree!
Such fun! May the sun peek through over this weekend!

    Hi Julie:
What a special tree, being patriotic is a wonderful quality in a person.I will be having a July 1st party and being Canadian I will probably decorate my areca palm on my patio with a maple leaf beach ball and a few flags as well. Thanks for the idea.

    Cheers, Bette

Yay, the Memorial Day – Summertime decorated tree looks great! I love the beach ball tree topper in lieu of the top hat – that really makes the tree stand out!! I love the extra patriotic
touches with the throw pillow and star. It looks like Forrest approves too! Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend!

    Julie,
I’m following your year-long decorated trees. This one is definitely a winner with my patriotic, military-minded family. Love that beach ball and all the Uncle Sam hats on the tree. Great Job. I especially like the small tree (for my own home) on the red cake stand. So cute!

By the way, I have a “glove wreath” for summer hanging on my back door! Love it too, except the heat from the sun is turning the DT white on the gloves a nasty tan color!
