We are super excited and honored to have our DIY made-over home in Detroit Home Magazine this Summer! If you missed the “Detroit Home Photo Shoot” that featured a lot of the behind the scene photos, you can view that HERE.
The best part about this magazine feature, is that they actually wrote the story behind the decorating.
THAT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.
Enjoy….”Romancing the Rustic” by Megan Swoyer/Photography by Matthew Lavere & his assistant Ryan.

Seeing your home in whole makes it all fit together. It makes me love each area even more!! For example, the piece that’s in a turquoise color and stores wood yet has your collection of silver and mirrors makes sense now as a home on the water (or at least close!). Your home is big!!! And you’ve filled it with the right amount of things that look so perfect together. Yes! You can decorate?
Thank you so much for stopping by, Gwen…what sweet comments. You made my night! 🙂 ~ Julie
Love the photos and all your beautiful decorating. They did a great job but you made it all possible. Everything is so nice; a special home for a special family (love the family pic).

It was a great deal of hard work but once we finished it was worth it. You look smoking hot by the way, Mama Cita!
One of the reasons I love your decor is that aren’t afraid to use dark colors. I always gravitate towards black, too. I love how they featured your entire family, you’re the next Pioneer Woman! I’m in Detroit all the time, we should connect!!
How cool is that, Jeanette! That would be awesome!
[…] photo below, yes, it looks good. Even beautiful, if I dare. It was even featured in a magazine, here. However, can you guess how I had to open those blinds every day? Yep, I had to hop into the […]
