You better get a tissue for this one because you’re going to need it 🤧. Oh dear no, I’m not going to make you cry! It’s just that it’s high time for the next tree idea I promised for our year-long decorated tree. No way could I let the Easter Bunny hop by without creating an easy and affordable spring version. If you missed the Dollar Store Valentine’s Day Tree <——-you should check it out. Afterwards, I think you’ll find my spring “Dollar Store Tissue Paper Tree” to be the easiest and cheapest tree I’ve designed to date. It also took me about 10 minutes to decorate 🤠.

Yep, you heard that right. 10 minutes of stuffing dollar store pastel colored tissue paper into the tree with nothing but my hand is all it took (full photo tutorial is below). Oh, and maybe spraying our cats a couple times (here’s our new rescue kitty, Spooky).

Of course I could have hung plastic eggs, and little chicks, but to be completely honest…I wanted something very very simple. Hanging plastic eggs on a tree this large would definitely not be simple 👎🏻.
It really turned out so pretty. And to think it cost me a whopping $2.00.

My favorite part is how the purple tissue topper turned out. My goal was to try to make the gathered tissue look like spring flowers. You know…kind of like how folks decorate the get-a-way car with tissue flowers for a freshly married couple. Rick & I did that for our wedding, how about you?

These “tissue flowers” are actually easier to make than the wedding car version because there isn’t any staples, or string involved. Just gather 1 piece of tissue paper like you would to stuff a gift bag, and stuff the tree instead.

We have researched and found that the dollar store carries the best tissue paper for your money. You see…our daughter knows best because she uses tissue paper for her slime company orders. She goes through 10 packages of this every month.
Okay, I stole 2 packs for the tree. Shhh!

To make your “tissue flower”, place 1 full sheet of tissue paper on a flat surface and gather from the center like the above photo shows.
Then stuff the tree randomly. I chose multi-color, but think of all the color options. Heck, even green, white & red would be beautiful for a Christmas tree. Halloween could be candy corn colors…you get the idea.

Happy spring to all!
{Stay tuned for the “summer” tree! coming up this June.}

Dollar Store Valentine’s Day Tree

Your spring tree is gorgeous, Julie! So light and beautiful.
Awww! Thanks so much, MB! I appreciate you stopping by!
What a perfect way to decorate your Easter tree! I actually like the tissue paper flowers a lot better than the typical Easter eggs hanging in a tree! Well done my friend!
I was kind of thinking this is a very strange thing to be doing Julie, but it’s funny how pretty it looked for something so simple. Thank you for all of your support, KC!
Just amazing, love to all, Dad in NY.
Thanks, Dad! What’s for supper? 😀
I love the Easter Tree! I’ve always thought the fewer decorations used, the more attractive anything is. I really envy your creativity and enjoy viewing all of your work. Thanks so much for the ideas.
Thank you, Michele! I appreciate your sweet comment!!
Love this idea.. I keep a small white tree up always… I will be doing a theme idea now after seeing this !!! Great inspiration… many thanks !!!!
Ooooo…a white tree would be even prettier!
yes

I would love to see your year round tree, Leah!
Love your tree; what a fantastic idea! It looks so light, springy and beautiful. And Spooky is adorable !!!!!!
Thank you, Carol!!
So beautiful and so colourful! Love it!
Thank you, Connie! I was surprised when the tissue paper matched some eggs I had!
Your idea of leaving the tree up saved me. It is so hard to get our big one to the attic. So this year I am keeping it up year round. I decorated mine last weekend with forsythia branches, pusswillow, 1 bunny, a small flower wreath at the top and some wooden eggs. It makes me smile every time I walk by!
So happy to help you!!! Your tree sounds so pretty.
Actually a very good idea to get some fullness. I like it.
