Thank you, JaneEllen! I love when you stop by. Thank you so much for the pinning!
I just started replacing all my outside solar stake lights with blue ball jars with solar inserts hanging on short shepard’s hooks! I’m up to about $13.50 per light, all total. ha! But I always hate how ugly solar lights are and I LOVE THESE! They’ll be easy to put away for the winter & I can hang retro ornaments on the hooks after the jars are put away. AND if a jar breaks, just get a new one! I wish I could post a picture! I love your site…. ~Fellow Michigander
Hi Jenn (fellow Michigander!) I think this is such a clever idea. If you follow on Facebook you can post a picture! Here’s the link to get to my FB page! https://www.facebook.com/redheadcandecorate/

I love your Mason Jar ideas!
This is not quite an idea like yours, but I wanted to tell you I live on a farm, and my one favorite planted flower is the Zinnia! Every year they are planted against my split rail fence and bloom all summer long. Like many flowers, the more you pick them, the more they grow!
At the beginning of every summer I buy a case of 12 Mason jars, and usually a bunch of raffia. Then it’s easy to make Zinnia arrangements- usually a set of 3- in my Mason jars tied with raffia or a themed ribbon , down the length of my farm table. Whenever we have guests, their “party gift” is an arrangement to take home, or we’ll take an an arrangement if we’ve been invited out.
They are so simple, inexpensive, and beautiful.
Such a great idea, Shelley! I bet your farm is gorgeous. We are about to possibly make an offer on farm land to build on. I am so excited. Thanks for stopping by!
PS: Maybe I’ll plant Zinnias!
Such creative ideas on jar decorations.
Right now, all my mason jars are used for canning and I try to get my hands on as many as I can find.
I just bought a doz. pint jars at Goodwill store for 50 cents each(including rings and flats) and already have been used for canning but now I do repurpose other jars that I can’t use for canning.
I have mixed mod podge (high gloss)and regular food color to make some tinted jars.
Hey Colleen! I am a jelly jar lover. Something about jelly jars. I think they prob remind me of being a kid with peanut butter & jelly. Painting the jars sounds like fun to me. Can’t believe I haven’t tried it yet.
Love your vintage lamp Julie!
