The sun was out this past week and it felt so good ☀️! It’s still freezing out there, but I bundled myself up while still in my PJ’s, grabbed my Valentine’s Day bin, and had some fun on our front porch. I hope you are inspired to (wear your PJ’s) do the same after you sift through my simple “Valentine’s Day Red & Pink Whimsical Porch”…

Simple Valentine’s Day Substitutions
When I was a little redhead running around the house in the 70’s I remember my mom putting big red single hearts on our windows for Valentine’s Day. I loved them so much, and still just can’t resist using traditional ruby red hearts in my Valentine’s Day decorating. Red hearts = LOVE ♥️ !
This year’s porch is on the whimsical side mostly because of the left over floating snow flakes on our sidelight windows (I just used a little tape to put them up). I absolutely love how they stand out when I have the DIY Sidelight Shutters closed on the inside of our foyer, and it’s convenient because they can stay up November-March.
In addition, the faux Pine trees were also still up from Christmas and I just used dollar store supplies to give them that red & pink Valentine’s Day theme. I adore mixing pink with red, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy the dollar store tulle ribbon tucked into the bottom of the trees. Oh, and you can see my BIG tree all decked out for Valentine’s Day at the end of this post.
Just look how cute Cupid is floating on top dropping the hearts…

Simple Valentine’s Day Red & Pink Whimsical Porch Taken Inside
When I was finished flying around with Cupid outside 😆, I was still in the mood to decorate, so I added my DIY Placemat Heart Pillow and a few dollar store trinkets. If you look real close, you’ll notice the cool cube frames on our stairs. If you’re not careful, that real Aloe plant might poke you!

Can you believe that LOVE sign and the little glass heart are both from the dollar store? I gave one of those red glass hearts to all of my special peeps. It makes for a nice paper weight for bills, etc..

Last Minute Tips for an Easy Valentine’s Day Porch
Before I go, I better tell you about this old wreath. This foiled lady is very old, but I fluffed her up by adding dollar store red and pink garland. It made her look 30 years younger (I need to be fluffed up, too 😉). It was simple with just a little wire to secure each end after I wrapped it around. I should also mention that I used command strips (cut very small to save $) to stick the hearts and cupid on the cold door. Tape just wouldn’t cut it in these temps.
There’s just something about pink & red together isn’t there? Whoops, in this next photo you’ll see how I still have up the gold spray painted capiz shell garland I made for Christmas. Well, at least you know I’m eating avocados and bananas to stay healthy!

One last little tiny tid bit, and then I gotta go! Before my fingers froze off, I filled the lanterns with dollar store tulle (ribbon) and then just added a few hearts. I bet the Amazon delivery person wonders who in the heck has time to decorate their front porch for Valentine’s Day!? My response would be, “I make the time, buddy!” 😊
I sure hope my simple Valentine’s Day Red & Pink Whimsical Porch will inspire you to decorate your porch today ♥️. Even just a simple red heart will due.
