Welcome to this month’s DIY Housewives “Decorating with Green” edition. I mean it is March after all. Who doesn’t like green? You may even be craving it after the long white Winter. Last weekend, I was drooling looking at some gorgeous large emerald green velvet pillows on-line. Think the wizard from the Wizard of Oz and the color of his coat. Well, maybe not THAT dark of a green, but a deeper green than say hunter green. So, as I was looking I asked my husband if he liked them. He immediately said, “No.” 😯 I was shocked! How could he not like such a beautiful rich color? Well, I’m still not sure. I showed him many shades of green and he finally said, “I think I’m just not a fan of green.” Lesson learned, and thank goodness my hair is red and not green. I’m not going to ask him about green again, but his allergic reaction to green is not going to stop me from using it. No way, uh uh. I mean green is just green and I love green, man. So, anyway I’m thinking about using the color emerald green as an accent color in our master bathroom renovation. I’m telling you it could change his mind. {view emerald green pillows at bottom of post}
Until I figure out the emerald green pillows, and if in fact I am going with green as an accent color in our bathroom renovation, I have plenty of other green ideas to keep the green flowing in our veins. I hope you enjoy my 4 favorite green ideas below and then you can sift through what the rest of the DIY Housewives have for you in green today. I know my vision is changing, however, I don’t see the emerald pillows at the bottom of the post! Lol
I’m loving that color of green right now!
Hi Pat! I just checked and I saw them. It’s right after the words “My Amazon Picks”. I picked out 3 beautiful pillows. I’m ordering 2 of the darker ones.
Sorry, not a fan of most greens in most settings. That’s why my green of choice is a beautiful plant.
You and my husband, both!
I am so happy to see that you are incorporating green into your fabulous decorative designs. I too, been trying to add green into my deco, but it just working for me yet. I am delighted too, because I know whatever you do, it will rock! Just maybe I can steal some of your ideas and make it work for me to. I love emerald green. I absolve the greens you posted.

Love your collection of bottles!
There are a lot of very pretty shades of green that I love and some I’m not to crazy about. I think it depends on how you use the color in your décor. I know in whatever way you use it, the result will be amazing! You just can’t help yourself, after all, Redhead Can Decorate!
