Very Simple 10 Minute Cannoli Pie Recipe

With Valentine’s Day approaching next month (one of my favorite holidays), I just had to make sure you had my “Very Simple 10 Minute Cannoli Pie Recipe” because it is now my number one homemade dessert. I am telling you…my husband falls in love with me all over again 😆, my kids think I am a super hero, and I look at myself in the mirror and say, “Good job, Red!” every- single- time- I make it. Not only does it taste sweet, creamy and a little crunchy just like an authentic cannoli, but it is so simple. I hope you will make my pie for your favorite peeps this Valentine’s Day…

When you skim my cannoli pie recipe below, you may be wondering where the ricotta is 🤔 …I don’t use ricotta because I prefer the creamy texture of cream cheese. This pie can’t replace an authentic real cannoli, but it sure comes close. You want proof? My husband’s Italian Aunt Frannie who I admire as a fantastic cook, makes the cannoli shell version (see below) for her sweet grandchildren and tells me how much she uses the recipe, not only for them, but for her friends, and even for Uncle Bruce. That’s proof in the pudding right there. 🇮🇹

♥️ Below you’ll find a photo of my handsome husband I took last week while we escaped to a weekend getaway, and you’ll obviously find the recipe for 10 Minute Cannoli Pie. Stay tuned…I’m sharing my Valentine’s Day decor next week! ♥️

10 Minute Cannoli Pie Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pie crust (baked) (I used Kroger brand once and baked at 450 for 10 min-then cool to room temp)
  • OR 1 prepared graham cracker crust -homemade is even better (I used the recipe on my graham cracker box).
  • 1 8oz. cream cheese -temperature that is right out of the fridge (I used a light version and it was unnoticeable)
  • 1 8oz. cool whip right out of fridge (not frozen)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
  • Sprinkle of orange zest (optional)
  • Mini or regular semisweet chocolate chips
  • Confectionery sugar (a little for on top)
The photo above is when I used a basic homemade graham cracker crust recipe from the graham cracker box recipe, but store bought works great.

Very Simple 10 Minute Cannoli Pie Instructions

  1. I recently used a store bought graham cracker crust and it was fantastic with this pie. However, a homemade graham cracker crust is phenomenal.
  2. (If you are using store bought “raw dough” crust which is also fantastic)….bake crust according to instructions on box (usually 450 10 minutes does it) by placing in a pie plate. I use my fingers to create bumpy crust edges, but a fork works too if you want fork marks instead. Let crust cool completely after baking.
  3. For the filling whip the cream cheese with a stand mixer until fluffy-not long.
  4. Add sugar and vanilla (orange zest if using) and continue to blend well using a rubber spatula to get everything off the sides. Continue to blend until no lumps but don’t go long or it will get too soft.
  5. Fold cold whipped topping into mixture, but do not use mixer or it will go flat. Combine until smooth.
  6. Spread in crust.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top (I do it like photo just leaving the middle plain).
  8. Sift confectionery sugar over the crust edge and the chocolate chips to give that “cannoli look”.
  9. Serve cold with a warm coffee, or hot tea 😊
  10. Cover and refrigerate for 4 days tops.
