Our Warm & Cozy Valentine Home Tour

Valentine’s Day is coming up so I thought it might be a nice time to not only share “Our Warm & Cozy Valentine Tour” at the house, but also to say hello from my favorite guy, and I. We recently went on a 3 night “date-night”(oo-la-la) and I would love to tell you about it because things went rather awry 😆. After our little Valentine story time, I will show you how I decorated for Valentine’s Day this year, and prove that there really is no place like home ♥️

Our Little Valentine Story Time

It was our 37th “Dating Anniversary” on 1-15-26 so I said to Rick, “Let’s use our ‘points’ to go away for the weekend to the city to get away.” It’s been so cold here, so we figured let’s enjoy a nice hotel and just feel pampered a bit in a different atmosphere. Then I realized the big game was on-on the last day of our stay 😲. So, we decided to splurge and buy the third night with regular money just so we could watch the game, and not worry about traveling home that night. Low and behold…we didn’t realize there was a huge event happening that night so prices were OUTRAGEOUS. We are talking close to $1000 a night. Well, we decided we were worth it, and booked our million dollar extra night-ha ha. To find out what “happened” on our 3 day/night adventure, just be sure to read the last paragraph at the end…until then, enjoy our warm and cozy Valentine home tour ♥️

Uh oh, I have no way to hide it now…yes, our Christmas tree is still up, and I am so in love with it. I took all of the Christmas ornaments off, and it’s just filling our living room with lots of cozy warmth. I wasn’t sure the wreath I found would go with the “white flocked” tree, but once I tried it up against my old “Thrift Store Gold Mirror” I was hooked. This heart shaped wreath instantly reminded me of an old fashioned vintage Valentine’s Day card. Maybe it does for you, too?

Rick and I spend every evening in our warm and cozy family room (with Rosie our 2 year old rescue kitty) and with as cold as it has been the fire has been going more than usual. We don’t miss having to purchase real wood like we did at the old house, and all the wood stacking that went along with it. We are enjoying this gas fireplace more than we thought we would with just a flick of the switch. We usually add the “crackling” fire noise by turning on the big screen TV and turning it to a channel that makes the comforting noise of the wood burning.

Our beautiful flocked tree will stay up until we start to feel some signs of spring. I thought about adding hearts to it, but this new tree is very tall so I wasn’t up to that much fussing. Besides…it really doesn’t need anything-just it’s warm, soft glow. Is your tree still up, or am I the only one?

Warm & Cozy Valentine Home Tour from Last Year

Maybe you remember our Valentine’s Day tree from last year? I kept all of the pink and red decor, and then added dollar store Cupid’s…it turned out so cute. If you would like to take the tour just click HERE.

Our Little Valentine Story Time (con’t.)

Okay, back to our little “Valentine Story”…the hotel was absolutely beautiful, everything seemed perfect. Even the gentleman that helped us with our luggage sang “Happy Anniversary” to us before he left…it wasn’t until that evening that we realized the mattress was absolutely horrible. The hotel was recently renovated so we don’t think the problem was from age, but just in poor choice of mattress styles-at least for us. Rick and I literally sunk into the middle of the bed which really caused our backs to ache. We tried to pretend it was okay, but we ended up leaving one night early because we just couldn’t take it. We got home that night and were so happy to be home. Lesson learned…sometimes you just have to stay home and enjoy what you have right in front of you. Rosie totally agrees…

Sorry your anniversary getaway didn’t turn out quite as nice as anticipated. Our tree is still up and decorated in pink and gold and we still have another tree up in one of the bedrooms. We love the soft glow at night. Your tree and home are beautiful!

    Hey U 2:
We put our tree up in Nov. and took it down Jan.15th. Love the lights and now the room feels so dull.
What a horrible experience at the hotel, sorry it turned out like that. As you say, there’s no place like home. The tree is gorgrous and I love the heart wreath too, also Rosie, so cute.
The bathroom looks warm and cozy.
    Hugs, Bette

Love your posts, but lately I’ve had a problem where your site just freezes and I’m not able to continue reading your wonderful posts. I wanted to add that in the New Orleans lots of people keep up their trees year around (usually smaller trees) and decorate for Mardi Gras, Easter, 4th of July — you get the idea. It’s pretty clever and fun to see how friends (and businesses) keep up their trees and decorate them.
