Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party

Have you ever considered inviting your friends and family over for a “Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party”? Does it sound like too much work? Well, I just might change your mind, pumpkin 🎃 ! You see…the perfect opportunity came together at our house when my sister-in-laws were coming into town for a visit. Everything began to fall into place while we were getting ready for our visitors, and we were cleaning the chandelier in our new dining room. By the way, I haven’t shared our dining room yet, so this is the first look for those of you that follow along here at Redhead Can Decorate. So, as strange as that is, the chandelier is what planted the pumpkin seed in my red head.

Before we go further…take a look at how our dining room looked before we moved in at the showing. I fell in love with the chandelier instantly. Wait until you see what happens next…

How did the Pumpkin Carving Party Get Started?

That’s the chandelier in the above photo that got the whole pumpkin party started. While we were removing the glass pendants to clean them, I started playing with different bulbs to see what type of lighting I wanted in here. One thing led to another, and I was draping my black cobweb cloth I’ve had for years over the bare light fixture to make it look spooky for Halloween. It was just too easy!!

So, then at first I thought I would just have a spooky pizza party in here which wasn’t a bad idea, but one trip to the dollar store changed that. I noticed their pumpkin carving tool sets were very nice, and that’s when I asked the kids if they would want to do a carving party with all of us, or if it sounded lame. Let’s just say my phone lit up like a jack-o-lantern and they were all in! Boom…the “Pumpkin Halloween Carving Party” was born.
