The Story Behind Romantic Dinner Date in Bed

I just sent our kiddos a few of these photos and my response after their very sweet words were, “Not bad for a bunch of old fogies, right?” At 57 & 54 we are getting up there, but honestly we don’t feel it, and we certainly don’t act it 😊. Okay, maybe sometimes, but for now let’s pretend we don’t, ha ha. So, before I get started I want to make sure you heard the big news about our next house. Okay, now that you know where redheadcandecorate.com is headed, let’s relax for a little while before all heck breaks loose with this big move. Rick and I have been spoiling ourselves a bit since we moved into the “transitional apartment” while we look for a house, and we have gotten fairly use to the smaller “headquarters” 😆. Honestly though, we are getting a little bored, and we are ready to spread our wings again. Apartment living really reminds me of going to a hotel because of the smaller spaces, and conveniences of such. One of those most enjoyable activities we have indulged in while living here, is eating in bed. Yep, you heard that correctly…and I am not afraid to admit we eat in bed…in fact, I’m quite proud of it and hope to inspire.

Now that I’ve admitted eating my favorite yummy pasta in bed, I must also come clean about the decorating. The decorating is just for fun guys, it’s not mandatory, and please know that I don’t set it up like this for us every time we eat my famous Chicken Loretta in bed…heck no. The decor is just to inspire some coziness, and maybe give ideas to go all out for yourself if you’re single, or to surprise your significant other on Valentine’s Day, or any day. We all deserve it.

Romantic Dinner Date in Bed Supplies

I had so much fun setting up this “Romantic Dinner Date in Bed” while my husband was working in his office on the other side of the apartment. I kept going in and asking him to come see how it looks now 😆. He is so sweet…he pointed out that he liked the candles on the trays which are from the dollar store, and FYI the big wooden dice is also from the dollar store. What a neat find that dice was with it’s cute date night ideas on it like “game night” or “compliment each other”. Maybe you want one for date night? If so, you better hurry I think they will go fast.

Last but not least, I wanted to tell you guys where I found the gorgeous pillows and champagne glasses…well surprise surprise it is HomeGoods which has been my favorite go-to for affordable unique ideas. I loved the modern yellow and gold design on the black velvet lumbar pillows, and the orange glasses spoke to to me with their unique shape.
