I realize many folks are extremely busy right now with Christmas only a few days away, however I had this simple, thoughtful idea that I just couldn’t resist sharing with you. “Operation Banana Bread: One for You, One to Share” is all about bringing joy to others in a homemade, cozy, scrumptious sort of way. What better time to do that, then now? 😉

TIP: THERE ARE 3 MORE HOMEMADE BREAD RECIPES BELOW THAT WOULD ALSO BE PERFECT FOR THIS.

That’s right folks…I’m asking you to participate in my “Operation: Banana Bread” by actually making this very basic ingredient banana bread (got over ripe bananas?), then gobbling one loaf up yourself, and then giving the other one away. This recipe really is a win/win situation 😉.

Just look below at how beautiful the loaves turn out. Oh, and the texture is out of this world with sweetness oozing out of each bite. My family begs for more every time.

I’ve been baking my sister’s very simple, basic ingredient 2 loaf banana bread recipe for 30 years (as you can see I now add a few fresh or frozen blueberries), so I usually eat one, and freeze one. Yes, this recipe makes 2 loaves of bread very easily, but it really doesn’t require that much more effort on your part. Just make sure you have two loaf pans, and some wax paper & tinfoil to wrap the extra one in so you can freeze it, or GIVE IT AWAY 😊.

Maybe you have someone in mind you could give the other loaf to? Maybe a neighbor who is alone, or ill? Maybe any elderly person, or a single mom/dad trying to make ends meet? 🤔

I am not a fan of banana bread but my sister does as soon my twin grandchildren. No nuts to choke on but they will gobble it up because gamma made it. They love me so much. When I call Jack says hihihihi and Lucy blows kisses. My little darlings.

    Hi Julie
Your emails are still coming through as junk. Should I unsubscribe from your site and resubscribe?

Hi Bette! I’m so sorry this is happening. Did you mark my e mail as “not junk”? You can go into your junk and click on my post and move it to not junk. Or just stop by every Sat? Are you on Facebook? We didn’t get too much snow, how about you? We are hoping for more on Christmas Eve. The storm just missed us. I think we have an inch out there. Big whoop! Ha ha

Your breads looks amazing. My husband and I love them all. We will be making these during the winter months, and enjoy eating them for breakfast, with a nice hot cup of Joe. I did not know you can freeze these. Thanks for that tip. Will be making blueberry bread this week.
    Happy holidays!
