Holy Guacamole Wood Sign Giveaway & Avocado Recipes

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Holy Guacamole 🥑,it’s time for another GIVEAWAY! Nothing brings me greater joy than giving gifts to my friends, especially when they are feeling a bit low. I think we all have been through so much stress lately, a “Holy Guacamole Wood Sign Giveaway” is just what the dr. ordered, and it comes complete with all of my “Avocado Recipes”, which of course will do our hearts a great deal of repair in more ways than one.

Did you know that avocados are loaded with heart healthy oils, that not only heal our hearts, but they also help our digestive system, immune system, they are a natural anti inflammatory, and avocados even help make our skin glow. Wow. Sign me up for a ride on the avocado bus 🚌.

So, I know you may have some anti-avocado peeps in your family, but just look at this “Poached Egg on Feta & Avocado Toast” that I just made for my husband and I yesterday…HOLY AVOCADOS.

All I did was toast some toast 😎 (we prefer whole wheat, or rye), mush an avocado (I use 1/2 of an avocado per piece of toast) with a little lemon juice and salt & pepper, poach an egg (see tips below), and then put it all together with a little feta cheese and fresh chopped tomato. It is very filling, so be hungry.

TIP: Poach an egg easily by bringing a small pot of water to a boil. Add a little (1-2 Tablespoons) white vinegar to the water, and use a wooden spoon to make a whirlpool in your pot just like you did as a kid in a real pool. Crack the egg in the middle while at full boil, then decrease heat and simmer for 2.5 minutes. Spoon out poached egg with a slotted spoon. Add to your favorite toast, and season with salt & pepper.

Okay, it’s getting late 😴, and I really want to get this post out to my newsletter folks 😳 (sign up here). I hope these avocado recipes inspire you to try them, and don’t forget to sign up for the cute kitchen wooden sign giveaway below. I will be mailing the wooden sign out to the winner this month!!

Hi Julie! I just luv avocados! Halved with a bit of salt, eaten right out of the shell, or some nice guac… speaking of guac, the sign is cute but (uh oh) I think the correct spelling is G-U-A-C-A-M-O-L-E. I add avocado to sandwiches yum!
Thank you for the inspired recipes, I’m trying a few!
      Stay well!

  15. Cincy Caretto says:

“Holy Guacamole” is my middle name! For a few years in the mid 50s, as a young child, we lived with my grandmother, in the older part of our town. She couldn’t live by herself and didn’t want to move in with us, so we went to her! Her craftsman home had a very creepy dirt basement and all the wonderful “real original” craftsman style! I can still remember every single detail! I thought her beautiful hydrangeas were “Old Lady Plants” until many years later when I grew to LOVE them! Her kitchen had a soapstone counter, a HUGE real farmhouse sink, a built in breakfast nook and the hot water heater stood open in one corner. It scared me to death! The best part was outside, the very old Avocado tree in the backyard! My dad laid a brick patio underneath it and I spent hours out there playing with my younger neighbor girl. We were both only children so she was the sister I had never had! Her Dad drove a turquoise Ford pickup truck that he sometimes drove us to school in. We rode in the open bed, no seatbelts, or seats for that matter!! I climbed that Avocado tree and carried avocado sandwiches to school in my lunch box, almost every single day! Rather than disliking that fruit because of eating it so often, I absolutely love avocados! Now, these many years later, I love wooden signs! So, the Avocado sign would be a wonderful and meaningful visual reminder of my grandmother and her home, that brings such special memories to me, all these years later!

    • Cindy Caretto says:

I forgot to mention the recipe! The shrimp and avocado wrap is the ONE that I will try first!
