Have you ever visited your favorite thrift store and spotted something across the store that was so beautiful that you instantly knew you just had to have it? That exact scenario played out for me recently while searching for my next makeover victim for our “Thrift Store Decor Team” series. Today I’m sharing not only that thrift store score that I love so much, but also where I decided to place it center stage in our home. You can be the judge on if you like my new “Thrift Store Gold Framed Floral Print” or maybe it’s just me, and then you can have fun visiting all my gal pals at the end of this post because they are sharing their amazing thrifty makeovers, too…

The Thrift Store Gold Framed Floral Print I Fell in Love with Instantly
There was an older gentleman standing about 25 feet away from me holding the frame up in the air like he was trying to figure out if it was worth anything. I could see how pretty the gold frame was and whispered to myself, “Put it down slowly Mr., and no one gets hurt.” 😆 All kidding aside, I really hoped he would put it down and decided to creep around the next isle so he didn’t sense my eagle eye behind him. I slowly turned the corner back to his isle to see if he was gone. BAM! It was like confetti fell from the rafters and they announced with flashing lights over the loud speaker “Attention guests Redhead just scored!!!”

The cute, aged metallic frame, and floral bouquet up against the moody, dark background spoke to me. And the $5.99 price spoke to me, too. I just knew I would find a place for it, and best of all I didn’t have to do a thing to it. A little disinfectant wipe along the resin frame, and a damp cloth over the floral print was enough.
Before I show you where I decided to display the frame, I thought you might be interested in who created it, so I took a photo of the back information. The copyright and year read 1982 Syroco Inc. so I was 13 when this was created. I looked up Syroco Inc. and found Syracuse Ornamental Company which is very interesting because my husband is from that area of New York, and I know we have yet ANOTHER thrift store score made by that same company in the 80’s. If you would like to see it, just click here. These items aren’t worth a million dollars, but they are collector items.

Where I Displayed the Thrift Store Gold Framed Floral Print
As we were paying the thrift store clerk for my new found treasure, I mentioned how slow things seemed to be in the store. He made a funny comment that stuck with me after we left. He said, “Oh, all the ‘REAL THRIFTERS’ were here over the weekend”. I nearly laughed out loud as he handed me my receipt. He obviously had no idea who he was dealing with 😆. My husband and I laughed for hours on that one. I actually wanted to say…”I have nine “REAL THRIFTERS” in my latest post dude! You should be following us on redheadcandecorate.com! Ok, let’s let him off the hook and see where I put this gorgeous golden babe…

I didn’t plan on it’s resting spot to be in the kitchen at all. In fact, I pictured it on the mantel, however when we got home I pulled it out of the bag, and held it up in the air in the kitchen where we have decorated with gold accents. Together, Rosie the kitty, and I knew that our thrift store masterpiece would not only add vintage charm to our modern decor, but it adds a little bit of farmhouse, too. I just love a mix of all types of decor, so this really finishes it off I think? What do you think, though? Here’s a rather strange angle below, but I wanted you to get the full effect of how large our acrylic shelf is with the artwork…
The above station is where I chop everything from my celery for our Thanksgiving dressing, to cracking a couple of daily eggs for my favorite guy and I, to have for breakfast. This is where all the family recipes are created with love, so it only seemed natural to want this to be filled with beauty, too. Before I invite you to visit my friends homes, below you will see that I circled all the thrift store finds, so you can see how easy it is to combine thrifted items into a glorious backdrop.

Okay guys, enough about me, I hope you will visit my sweet blog friends below and see what projects they created out of thrift store items. Please let them know that Red sent you over…here’s all nine of us!

Haha…real thrifters! Oh boy! Well, you totally scored, I *almost* walked out of Target this week with a gold framed picture, not half as pretty or valuable as yours and it was $27. Yikes. I need to go back to the thrift store.
Isn’t that funny, Kim?! We laughed for hours on that one. We are still saying it to one another…. “Real thrifters!”
Great find Julie, love it in your kitchen!
Thank you, Kristin!
Lucky lady you are! Too bad you’re not a “real thrifter”. hahahah
Really a pretty print at a great price, I guess those “real thrifters” didn’t know a good thing when they saw it.

LOL…I am still laughing Gail.
Fabulous find! Every fabulous kitchen needs some fabulous art! I really need to up my framed print game. Maybe, someday, I can be a REAL thrifter too! Hilarious…if he only knew! Pinned. Hi Dad!!
I will tell Dad you said hello, Sue!
Yay! For some reason I am NOW getting your posts! What’s the size of this frame? I found an exquisite gold frame with a VERY nice Monet print in it from the 1960’s. Ditched the print and savedthe frame. I added a chalkboard and we have used it quite a few times for special events. These frames are treasures! Enjoy!
What a great idea, Charlene. I measured for you and it’s approximately 15″x20″. Thank you for stopping by!
Love the frame! It fits perfectly. Great find.
Thank you, Christy!
Julie, what a score for this beautiful picture frame. I love that you didn’t have to do anything to it other than a cleaning. It looks stunning in your beautiful kitchen. So fun thrifting with you!
Thank you, Michelle!!
Hi Julie & Rick: Happy Valentines Day
I love it that the man in the thrift store put the mirror back. I love thrift store shopping and have found a few nice things along the way, the mirror looks stunning over the mantle. I also love that you put the gold framed picture in the kitchen, we should all have beautiful things to remind us that these were somebody’s treasures. Hope you are feeling better and ready for another project. Hugs, Bette & Joe😍
Hi Bette! I hope you are doing well my Canadian friend!!
