Our Cozy Luxurious Apartment Master Bedroom

We fell in love with our apartment master bedroom the very first night we stayed over in our “new pad”. We honestly didn’t know what to expect because after all, it is an apartment, and we haven’t lived in an apartment in 30 years. Well, I’m happy to report that it turned out to be extremely quiet, comfortable, and we actually felt secluded from the world. That first night inspired me to go all out and decorate it as best as I could using what we had in our amazing bedroom at the house we just sold. I hope you enjoy “Our Cozy Luxurious Apartment Master Bedroom”…

Before we get started, if you happen to have missed last week’s tour of our dining area nestled within our living area, you can view it here: APARTMENT DINING & LIVING AREA. Our master bedroom is located directly adjacent to our dining and living area. We call it the “East Wing” because there is a very similar “West Wing” on the opposite side of the apartment. While we do both share our master bedroom πŸ˜‰, I have claimed the huge bathroom and walk-in closet as mine. My husband enjoys the West wing bathroom πŸ˜†, and he also has a really nice office space. Trust me…he loves his new spaces.

Here’s our master bedroom the day before the movers came. I was so excited that day! I know it looks small, but what I liked about these brand new apartments (that are nestled in a very quaint town/park), is that the windows are floor to ceiling, the carpet is very luxurious (and new), and the ceilings are 9ft. tall which is what we had at the house. Ceilings make a huge difference in determining how open a space feels. I think you’ll notice how much I utilized that extra space while decorating to give the room a larger feel. In other words, don’t forget to use ALL OF YOUR WALL SPACE GOING UP TO THE CEILING when decorating.

This first “after” photo above makes me feel like jumping onto that fluffy white bed to take a long winter’s nap. I love our new cozy master bedroom so much so, I find myself moving on from our gorgeous old bedroom with the wood planked ceiling. In fact…I love the fresh change to an all white theme. I also didn’t realize how much I desired carpet instead of hard wood floors 🀭. Carpet in the bedroom is so much softer on tired toes, and I don’t wake up my husband with the old creaky hardwood floors.

Utilizing the Entire Wall Space Up to the Ceiling for Apartment Master Bedroom

When thinking about how to place all of our favorite black and white wall art, I decided to start with that huge romantic piece right off to the right of the vintage rustic sconces. It was the first large framed piece I added, and then eye balled the rest up to the ceiling. I added a little of my mom since her recent passing by nestling in her golden trimmed mirror. The gold octagon shaped mirror kind of looks like a window, don’t you think? A window into Heaven maybe β™₯️?

Side note: I’ve admired the architecture and romance of the “Arc De Triomph” since my days way back in high school and college when I took French and dreamed of visiting France. I haven’t been able to go yet, but maybe some day I will with my one and only life long love Rick 😊!

Do you love taking care of fresh plant babies like I do? If you follow along here at Redhead Can Decorate and are subscribed to my weekly newsletter with home decorating and yummy recipes, then you may already recognize the real Fiddle Fig Leaf plant and my sprouting palm in the corner. Can you see how happy they are there in that bright light in our luxurious apartment master bedroom? I recently used a simple tack in the wall, and some thread to hold the big guy up because the big move made him lean. After a few weeks he is standing up on his own again πŸ™ŒπŸ».

I’m very excited to have these fresh dudes in our bedroom because we all know real live plants clean the air naturally. By the way, not all the plants in the room are real and that is ok. Mixing faux plants with real can really enhance them all. You can find my sources for everything including the fresh and faux plant below.

FYI-with my easy slider curtain clips, the curtains slide over so quickly and easily. I usually slide the left curtain panel over to the right so my little children can get some sun β˜€οΈ. This trick also dims the room for a nap!

Beautiful! I love all of the pictures. I changed apartments a lot when I was young and I loved seeing how my stuff looked in the new spaces. Great job.

    • Julie says:

Funny you say that, Valerie! I meant to mention how much younger I feel here. I think it’s partially the neighbors … we had mostly retirees as neighbors at the house.
