The Best Mop EVER
Last weekend, my husband and I were making the bed on Saturday morning and I was shocked at what I saw! The wood plantation shutters we have on our windows behind the headboard had grown fur on them 😳. Well, somehow Julie & Rick allowed the dust to get so bad on those shutters that it actually looked like fur. Bad Julie & Rick. Now you know why I’m posting my “Spring Cleaning Tips & Giveaway” today. I have some great cleaning tips, and a fabulous giveaway for you, so I hope you can hang out for a couple minutes and possibly win!
Before we get to the bedroom and the giveaway, we are starting in the kitchen with this new mop I purchased. This is not a sponsored post and I was not paid to tell you about this mop.
The truth is, mopping hurts. It literally hurts my arms and wrist and I avoid it like the plague. My husband usually ends up doing it thank goodness, but I really wish it was easier so I can get it out of the way during the week instead of waiting for Rick on the weekends.
So, I came across this cool red mop that caught my eye on Amazon. I have no idea how it even popped up because I have never searched mops. Maybe my computer was listening when I told Rick he needed to mop soon 🤔.
Either way, I was intrigued by the reviews and the self ringing step and spin mechanism it had. I mean, the hard part about mopping the floor to me is when you ring out the mop. I just don’t have the strength in my arms/wrist that I use too. This looked like a perfect solution.

Well, I ordered it and it was delivered fast. I admit it sat in the box for a week before we tried it. I’m telling you, this thing is a life changer. I actually had fun mopping with it. That’s my foot up there stepping on the spinner and it is very satisfying. I have no idea why, but yes, satisfying.
It works perfectly just the way I envisioned and the mop comes out of the spinner fresh and damp ready to mop. I completely recommend this mop to everyone that mops. Including Rick, lol.
How I Clean Our Glass Pendants & My Favorite Glass Cleaner
Okay, next! Cleaning glass. Ugh…cleaning glass or mirrors has always been a challenge for me. I have tried everything from newspapers, to vinegar, to basic Windex. They all do an okay job, but one of my best friends from high school mentioned a glass cleaner she loves on Facebook. This girl is seriously brilliant, so I wrote down the name and ordered it.
Look at these glass pendants after I used it (and a few tricks you’ll find below) on them. Holy ice cubes, they look like they were just made by a professional glass blower.
Here’s what they looked like before with that darn fur that I keep finding around my house 😡.
How to clean glass pendants like a pro…
Turn off the light fixture and remove bulb carefully. If you can remove the glass pendant great, however I left mine up and just sat on our island to clean them.
Wet a clean cotton wash cloth with very very hot water and wipe all the grime off inside and outside the pendant as best as you can doing a couple rounds.
Wet a paper towel (preferably the kind you see in public bathrooms-see below) with plain white vinegar and clean the inside and outside again. Do not use regular paper towels because they will leave lint behind. It’s okay if you see streaks, we are going to get rid of those next.
Finish it all off with a few sprays of my favorite glass cleaner and the brown paper towels I swear by.
That’s it!
I was absolutely shocked at how cleaning the glass pendants made my kitchen look and feel so much cleaner. I stared at them all night and kept telling Rick to look at them 😂.
I also use this glass cleaner and the brown paper towels on all of our mirrors, and my glass coffee table. Nothing beats it.
Bedroom Cleaning Tips & Giveaway

I think the quality of the cotton and the finish of the fabric are what makes a sheet set luxurious. There is NOTHING like sliding into a comfy bed with crisp new sheets and snuggling up for the night!
If the warp of the cloth is nice and tight it makes the sheet feel luxurious.
This could not have come at a better time ! Just when I was shopping for a new sheet set they are beautiful ! hope I win !
A good night’s sleep! The bedding needs to feel good and help us relax.
After you wash it a few times and it actually stays on the bed and you don’t have to tug and pull on it nightly to be comfortable. I’ve had a few that no matter how much tugging and smoothing I do they’re just not comfortable and I have to do this every night.
I love soft sheets to cuddle in!

It may feel like luxury but it is also a necessity for a soothing night’s rest. The first night sleeping on fresh, good-quality linens is like going on vacation!

Having 100% cotton sheets make them a real luxury!!! They are cooling in the summer and warm in the winter…all natural with no plastic polyester or horrible microfiber for us!!!

Quality cotton sheets that fit the mattress well and retain their quality wash after wash.
Cool and smooth….nothing better. Plus it helps that they are easy to put on the bed.
To me, a sheet is a luxury when it has the abiilty to be soft and cooling.
The softness and after you wash them, they are still soft!

As for luxury sheets, first of all I like a quality cotton sheet that breathes. I also think a well constructed and ample sized fitted sheet is important. My mattress is thick and I want those corners to stay in place!!

clean and soft sheets with no “pills” on them. I bought new sheets and after only a couple washes they had pills on them. Need some new sheets now!😜
They must be cool and keep cool thru the night. Nothing worse than “hot” sheets that make you sweat! Of course the best is the old fashioned line dry which few of us can even remember and of course, no such thing in modern society. Then finished off with a wonderful squirt of linen spray — lavender! Can almost take a nap now just thinking about it.
Cool sheets. Must be cool and not hot during the night causing sweat! Of course, the best is hanging outside to dry (the old fashioned clothes line), but few have that luxury and it has disappeared in modern life. But it.is.the.best! Also, finish with a squirt of linen spray, preferably lavender. Can almost feel the comfort now .. ready for a nap!

Luxury sheets are soft to the touch and stays that way after several washes. I would love a set of those.
I must have soft, lavendar-sprayed sheets that fit tightly on the bed. I’m a “sleeper” & always have been since I was a baby. Cool, clean sheets are heaven.
Luxury for me means sheets that are super soft and durable.
A luxury sheet should make you feel cool & comfortable while you snooze! We need a new set of these sheets 😊
Sheets that fit exactly the way they should all the way around. I can tell the quality of sheets by the way they fit. Bad fit usually means less soft, less quality threads. I’ve bought sheets for an 18” mattress and they don’t even fit my 14” mattress correctly. The worst is when the sides don’t go under the mattress at all.
Thread count and softness.
So many of the new sheets are hot. Staying cool is luxury to me.
One thing that makes a sheet a real luxury is a high thread count of 100% cotton.
What makes a sheet a Luxury hmmm guess is defined by each person. A luxury sheet is when I would be to sleep on the cool crisp percale at my grandmothers house on the sand hill farm in Michigan. To feel the cools sheets and the fan swirling above me during the humid summer nights. Aww what a luxury

The texture (feel) of the sheets. There is nothing better than smooth soft sheets!
Sheets that fit our queen bed without a tugging war after six months of washing every week are a real luxury.
Luxurious sheets to me would need all elements of comfort, breathability, and easy care. Elegance in a sheet is important, when it looks beautiful and feels beautiful it helps me feel beautiful also.
Luxury sheets feel, soft, cool and crisp. A little weight in fabric.
What makes me feel luxurious in bed? When the sheets have only a few wrinkles & feel cool and smooth!!
