How to Create 5 Minute Holiday Pillows

I’m “wrapping” up Christmas today with one of the easiest tips to dress up your sofa, bed, or cozy chair quickly, and affordably. This neat pillow idea came to me while decorating earlier this year (I was inspiredly by a catalog), and I purposely saved it for last minute holiday decorators. Not only will “How to Create 5 Minute Holiday Pillows” give your home a very personalized festive vibe fast, but they can also be used for New Years, Valentine’s Day, and even Easter.

Before we get to the details, maybe you remember this lovely dramatic scene above that I photographed for this year’s Holiday Housewalk Tour? As you can see, I added a simple red satin homemade bow to dress up the “Wedding Dress” wall art after I was inspired to wrap up a pillow or 2 with the same ribbon. Here’s a few photo close-ups of the pillows I “wrapped” up to dress our home for the holidays…

Too Busy to Decorate for Christmas? Try 5 Minute Holiday Pillows!

Let’s set the scene… you have been incredibly busy and haven’t had time to do any decorating for the holidays, except maybe the tree, or wreath on your front door. The rest of your home is missing that “cozy Christmas” feeling we all crave at this time of year. My first advice would be to light some candles either real or faux. Candles always do the trick for me when in need of some quick-coziness.

However, if you want to be unique and take cozy a step further, you can try this 5 minute Holiday Pillow idea that is fun and fast. All you’ll need is your favorite pillow, and a little ribbon. If you’re interested in purchasing new supplies, I share my very affordable sources below.

How to Create 5 Minute Holiday Pillows

To create these 5 minute little gift Christmas pillows, all you need is 1 pillow and enough ribbon to either do 1 tie across the pillow, or do the full double criss cross tie you would do for an actual gift. There’s really no secret to this, it’s the same as tying a gift together, or tying your shoe. To make the bow is just like tying your shoe laces. I also like to cut the end of the 2 ribbons with a finished off look with the upside down “V” (you will just need sharp scissors).

Speaking of the letter “V”…wouldn’t these ruby red wrapped pillows be so sweet for Valentine’s Day? You can even use them to take a nap on 😊

⭐️ I hope you all have a joyful Christmas! Stay tuned for a super cool New Year’s Eve dollar store champagne tower! ⭐️
