Yowsa! It’s getting very busy over here at Red’s. Christmas is in full swing and not only do I have a full 6 room Christmas home tour coming up for you on December 6th 👍🏻, I also have a fresh cedar wreath giveaway going on NOW. In the mean time, I had all these extra hexagon white tiles left over from our bathroom renovation last year (did you see it yet?), and I knew I could repurpose them one day, but had no idea how, until now. In fact, this clever idea of “Reusable Christmas Tile Gift Tags” just keeps getting better and better the more I think about it. Not only will these tiles look cute on your Christmas gifts, but they will save you money and time. Booyah!

Before I explain more about these “Reusable Christmas Tile Gift Tags”, I invite you to visit my amazing talented blog pals at the end of this post for many more Christmas ideas. Double booyah!

Why use Reusable Christmas Tile Gift Tags?
You can find a sheet of tiles at any home improvement store for around $10 bucks. I know that’s not as inexpensive as say going to the dollar store for some sticker gift tags, but let me explain why it really is.

You see, these gorgeous homemade gift tags can be used over and over again. Doesn’t that sound nice? Not to have to write gift tags ever again? It does for me because my eyes are getting bad, ya know? Writing out those little names on those little gift tags is not as easy as it use to be. Now all I have to do, is rip these off the wrapping paper after everyone opens their gifts, and save them for next year. Kind of like saving bows. I save bows, do you?

In addition, you can always switch them up easily because rubbing alcohol will remove the permanent marker with ease.
What’s even cooler, is that the options are seriously endless. You could use Carrara marble tiles, or even black tiles with metallic markers. You could get really creative and use different shaped tiles, too. It just gets better and better.

How to make Reusable Christmas Tile Gift Tags:
Use permanent marker to label the gift tags, and then glue onto the gift wrap with plain non toxic white school glue. That’s it! Then just save them and reattach the following year, or remove the marker with rubbing alcohol to create a new gift tag.
Tip: draw little trees, or snowmen on them for fun…or get personal by saying “I love You”. Our family likes to joke around and use our pet’s names in the “from” section. Mix it up, and have fun. I bet the little kiddos would love to collect them, too!

Julie, what a great idea! I love a good recycle option and I think we may even have some extra tiles in the basement. They are perfect as a gift tag. You’ve given me a new reason to shop the tile section in the hardware and restoration store.
Now that’s an ingenious idea, Julie. We just redid our bathroom in almost that exact tile and now I know what to do with my leftovers. Fabulous!
How cool is that!!
What an awesome idea! I hate throwing anything away and I know that there are tile sheets in my basement just waiting for me to try this. You are so clever!

I am all for reusing and upcycling! What a great way to use up those sheets of old tiles. And…it does seem that the spaces to write the names are just getting smaller and smaller…right? A
So very true, lol!
What a cool idea Julie! I love that they can be wiped clean and reused year to year!
Oh my stars! Brilliant idea! So simple yet so elegant looking on the gifts. Standing – O for you and your clever idea. Thanks so much for sharing.
This is such a great idea. One of our old floors was white hexigon with cranberry accents. I KNOW my husband stashed some of the floor out by his shed when it was replaced, I guess he thought “some day” it would come in handy. He’s gonna laugh when I tell him some day has arrived!
This idea is genius! Sometimes you can find leftover tile at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store so I’ll have to be on the lookout for that now. They look great on your green gift wrap.
What a clever idea and such a fantastic way to use up the extra tiles! I just love how they pop on your beautiful green paper!
Hi Julie, what a great idea, I love how you can just write them out once (while you can still see) and then just recycle them year after year! I am looking forward to your house tour and appreciate the sneak peak, ops,,,,, shhhhh!
