I am so excited to share this Modern Minimalistic Condo with a Private Terrace/View with you! This 3 part series I’m dedicating to describing how I pulled off probably the best vacation of my life while also DIYing our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony. My hope is that I can help folks save money if they decided to renew their vows, or even if it’s for a real wedding, or vacation.
DIY Wedding Vow Renewal Part 1: Location
It all began last Summer when I spent quite a few hours searching for the perfect location to not only have the ceremony, but to conveniently stay afterwards for our family vacation. Well, I nearly fell of my rocker when I came across quite a unique gem, and the best part is that it was only 4.5 hours away (we live in Michigan). Maybe you too, will be interested in renting this “Modern Minimalistic Condo with a Private Terrace/View” or maybe you know someone that might be? Either way, I think you’ll enjoy looking for fun. Later next week, I’ll also be sharing parts 2 & 3 dedicated to how I DIYed our wedding vow renewal ceremony. I saved a ton of cash!
If you’ve never been to Toronto, Ontario in Canada, this is the breathtaking skyline…

This also happens to be the private terrace/view I am so excited about. When I first came across this condo online I just couldn’t get over the spectacular view from the massive 2500 square foot deck. It even has a heated pool and all this is yours to use privately as you walk out a sliding glass door from your condo. That means no one else has access to it, except maybe a few birds that swing by. I don’t know about you, but I have never seen anything like this before. It was the perfect location to renew our wedding vows.

See that huge outdoor sectional surrounding the very cozy gas fire pit that goes on with just a flick of a switch? My husband took a nap there and slept like a baby for hours one evening. I have pictures to prove it, but I think I’ll share him doing the dishes instead 😉 (see photo below).
Before I move on I want you to know that this outdoor sectional got wet in the rain, and it dried in a couple hours in the sun. We enjoyed sitting out here with the fire, and sometimes blankets every single night. When the Toronto skyline lights up it is so romantic and magical. Surprisingly very quiet, too. Look, even those green palm plants light up at night.

Moving on to the interior of this very modern minimalistic condo, I think my mouth was stuck open wide with a look of shock when I first saw it for about an hour. First, I played with the cool lights like a little girl in a candy shop, and moved on to that very comfortable swivel red velvet chair. Oh, and let’s not forget the panoramic view from inside.

The modern gourmet kitchen comes equipped with almost everything you would need except the food (see end of post where I discuss the grocery store located in the building). I prepared breakfast every morning, we ate out for lunch, and at night I enjoyed my favorite hobby aside from decorating, cooking. Family & friends gathered around the island every night and this is also where I made the bouquets for our wedding vow renewal ceremony. Those details are coming up next week.
Here’s few of the recipes I made while on vacation: Chicken Loretta, Dry Rub Wings, & Bean Dip.
I should mention that there is a second side balcony that is only accessible from the sliding door in the dining area. There’s the gorgeous CN tower again, and to the right you can see Lake Ontario in the distance. Absolutely gorgeous.

Check out that cute glass cocktail table stocked with a few tidbits 😉… and for those that enjoy coffee, I noticed there are coffee shops everywhere, along with Little Italy just a few blocks away which lines many ethnic restaurants including Italian, Japanese, Mexican, etc.. We ended up getting homemade ramen, fresh Italian crusty bread and scrumptious cannolis that I ate roadside. Not joking.

There are 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms attached with this quaint hall leading to the bedroom we chose. Our kiddos enjoyed the other bedroom across the condo and we did have 1 guest sleep on the leather sectional in the living room.
The cabinets are well equipped with fresh clean fluffy towels, paper supplies, and cleaning supplies. I ended up bringing way too many supplies, but will know for next time. We plan on coming back next year, and we may also sneak away for a romantic weekend soon.

Not only did our bedroom (1 of 2) have a really cool light fixture that I couldn’t stop staring at, it also had a very comfortable queen size clean/crisp bed, and I could see the CN tower from my side of the bed. How cool is that?
There’s also a front load washer & dryer, an iron & ironing board, full size mirrors, and plenty of clothes storage in the custom made closets. Oh, and the blinds are fully automatic with just a click of the remote switch.

As you can see from this photo below, the deck is quite massive.

As you can see from this photo below, the view is quite priceless.

Before I go, here’s a few extra photos below of the supermarket located on the bottom floor. It reminded us of a mini Wegman’s. There’s also a gym (we used it 4 times in a week!), private movie theater that you can reserve, and a party room that comes equipped with a billiards room. Parking is located in an attached parking garage that was very lit up, and easy to access with the main elevator. Am I forgetting anything??? It’s kind of like your own little private world with view!

This condo was the absolute best location for us to renew our wedding vows for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our oldest was able to use her photography skills with the amazing backdrop (more info. on the vows coming next week).

Hi Julie:
In your email to me you mentioned you were in Toronto, but I didn’t expect your accommodations to be so deluxe. That is probably the most lovely condo I have ever seen!
What a great way to spend your 25th and renew your vows as well, especially with your children.
My hubby and I are headed to the Maritimes for our vacation, have you ever been? They say it’s a place you don’t want to miss. We will be in Toronto, but only to change planes, wish I could see that condo.
Thanks for sharing and looking forward to your next story.
Cheers, Bette
That sounds so nice, Bette!! Enjoy your vacation!!
Simply stunning! What a beautiful and romantic place!
Amazing trip!! Beautiful pics of a beautiful family!! Happy Anniversary!!❤️
Thanks, Christine! XO
[…] So, there we were…me and my peeps last week right after we exchanged our beautiful private wedding vows on top of Toronto. This might sound/look like it cost a fortune, but honestly, we saved so much money and did everything ourselves (and by ourselves 😆). I will explain all of those goodies next week in the 3rd part. If you missed the first part on the spectacular location, please click here: Modern Minimalistic Condo with a Private Terrace/View […]
What a fantastic way to spend your ‘special anniversary’; including the kiddos and ‘livin it up in style’. YourI’ roses look amazing and everyone looks so classy. I’m happy for all of you; what a family!!!! Very nice.
Thank you, Carol! I can’t wait to show you the wreath I made this wknd. Stay tuned!
[…] I think you’re probably catching on here, but when it comes to where you should renew your vows, it should be a very personal decision. Maybe you have a special location where you first dated, or a favorite vacation spot to use? Hey, your house would be great, too! We got very lucky and found a spectacular condo in Toronto that we rented for the entire week. The private terrace with this amazing view of Toronto’s skyline made the perfect setting for our wedding vow ceremony, photographs, and the celebration afterwards. For most of our 30 years together we have traveled through Canada from Michigan to New York 100’s of times because that’s where we are from. So, that really added to the uniqueness of the location. By the way, if your interested in this rental, I wrote a full review here (if you mention my name Julie she will give you a discount): Toronto’s Modern Minimalistic Condo with a Private Terrace/View.
