18 Savory Soup Recipes

My husband loves soup.  My oldest loves soup.  I love soup.  My youngest, not so much.  Where does your family fall on the soup spectrum?  Either way, with Fall approaching there’s no better time to sift out a few soup recipes you may have never tried before, and save them (or make tonight).  Not only do soups taste wonderful, they tend to be so full of nutrients, and are soothing for the tired, sick, and cold.  Last month, I introduced my new series called the The Cooking Housewivesand this month the cooking housewives are sharing their favorite soup recipes.  Welcome to “18 Savory Soup Recipes”.  I hope you try one…or 2.

First you’ll see my recipes, and then at the end you’ll view the soup finale!

Love me some pierogis. There was a festival every fall where I was part of a clown alley and on breaks from face painting and balloon animals, we would head for the pierogi stand. Cheese and potato are my favorites, with sour cream!

Love your blog and all your projects and decorating!

You are 100% right, we are approaching the season for soups, and you have listed many of my favorites. Like your family my husband and I love soups, but our teen son, not so much. I will be using your soup recipes this fall. Why? Because I’ve used many of your recipes, and they have NEVER disappoint. I’ve made many of them over and over again, and they have turned out just as tasty as the picture looks yummy. I can almost taste these soups. Although in our home, we mainly eat soups in the winter, but because its your recipes, I will make one of these soups, for the first time, ( I will not wait for colder temperatures) instead, I will be making one of these soups this Sunday.

Yummy dumplings! My family is also Polish and serve dumplings in chicken soup. Our dumplings are a little different as we start with grated potatoes but finish the same way. My uncle taught me the secrets to making them perfect! Found out you can freeze them in a single layer on parchment. Transfer to container with parchment between layers. Not sure how long they’ll keep as were gone in a few weeks.
