Upside Down Vase Santa Claus

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

This is for the kiddos!  Looking way back, I remember my Mom had a glass candy jar that had a “felt” Santa outfit glued on it, and I remember playing with it as a little girl.  This “Upside Down Vase Santa Claus” is the larger version 😯 .  If you make one, kids everywhere will flock to your house just to see it!  So, fill it with lots of candy or cookies, okay?

Isn’t he just so adorable?  I admit…I do have a fascination with all Santas.  I love Santa.  He’s just a nice guy, you know?  Check out those thick eyebrows.  They were my daughter’s idea.  At first I forgot the mustache and thought he looked so odd.  Then I finally remembered to put it on.

Supplies:

  • 1 clear vase (dollar store has these)
  • 1 fish bowl that fits bottom of vase (Michael’s)
  • large red bulbs to fill body (dollar store)
  • black ribbon for belt & bottom trim
  • gold ribbon for belt buckle
  • glue (this is my favorite glue)
  • Santa hat (dollar store)
  • pillow stuffing
  • candy kisses or cookies (optional)

Directions:

Glue bottom of vase to bottom of fish bowl and let dry.  Flip so the vase is up.  Fill vase with large red bulbs (mine stuck in there all by themselves with out falling out when I flipped it over).  Flip over so the fish bowl is now on top.  Add the beard, mustache, hat, belt and black trim using glue when necessary.  Fill with candy or cookies.  Call your grand kids and tell them Santa is waiting.

Your Santa turned out so cute. Awesome way to use a vase (that so many of us have shoved into a cupboard just taking up space).

Great idea; thank you Redhead 🙂
