I can’t believe it, but it’s been 5 years since I created redheadcandecorate.com. Those 5 years have been the fastest (and most exciting) years of my life. Running a blog which is a small business takes an enormous amount of time & dedication. Every single second has been worth it, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Many thanks to my family, friends, and followers who have stood by me and watched me succeed, and sometimes fail.
What’s been most important to me, is that I inspire people to take risks in their home and find the courage to decorate their home the way that they desire without feeling pressured to follow what everyone else is doing. I know for sure that I have accomplished that. The other very important message I feel is important in my journey as a publisher, is to inspire my children to follow their passion(s). I know for sure that I have done that as well, so if I stopped blogging tomorrow, I feel it has been a great success.
Stay tuned to the next 5 years full of many adventures including selling our home, and building/designing a new one.

I would say your coffe bar/room makeover is on the top of my list, along with the curtains you added to the living room entrance! As for a recipe, well the stuffed cabbage for certain! Congratulations! I can’t say I can choose one favorite idea because what I see that I love is your lack of fear with using black (or dark brown but looks black, as you say.) I am a big believer in the power of dark and light neutrals as you show in your lovely kitchen and master bath. Well done, you!

So, I hope this counts since it’s not really a project-project. But honestly- I loved how you stacked your wood as an accent piece on your porch. We have piles and piles upon piles of wood and I never thought to make it look decorative. We don’t have a porch but I’m keeping my eye open for ideas.
I ALWAYS read your blog out of all that I subscribe to because your style speaks to me. I love what you did in your office, but having said that, I also enjoy the recipes, the before’s and after’s, the bold use of color (that BLUE sofa!), and your willingness to get down and dirty to make over something that just doesn’t GO until you put your touch on it.

In general, I just love the look of your kitchen! I particularly like what you did with the windows.
I love your house. Each room is so lovely. I especially love your kitchen with the brick wall. It reminds me of my mother’s. I also love the water you have in the back yard. It always looks so welcoming with all your outdoor crafts.

Congratulations on five years, I subscribed a few months ago and love your site and your style. My favorite room makeovers have to be the kitchen and master bedroom. I love the way you took time to decorate the entire home for the Holidays especially the master bedroom. I work from home full time and enjoyed watching you transform your office.
