My youngest daughter & I had a Target date last Saturday night, and boy did we have a ball. I have to admit, I was acting a bit like a teenager giggling through the store, because honestly, when I hang out with my girls, they make feel good. They bring out the silly in me.
We started at the right side of the store where all the bikinis clothes are and I envisioned finding the perfect “sweat suit” that would make me look 10 lbs. lighter. When I told my daughter that’s what I needed, her response was, “What’s that?” I told her it will make me sweat. 🙂
I never found that sweat suit, but I did find this pretty “Blue Accent Rug”. I have enough sweats anyway.
I know it’s pretty bold, but I needed a fun new rug in our bathroom desperately. Okay, maybe not desperately, but we just finished the “Wood Planked Wall” and the rug I had in there was dreaded dated. Take a look yourself…don’t mind Rick, he’s just taking a break from building the wall.

In fact, I didn’t even include this furry brown beast in the bathroom photos because I dislike it that much.
This new blue “Threshold Trellis Scatter Rug” adds pattern, color, and modern POW!
Here’s some nice things I’ve noticed since using it…
It is soft on my bare feet, and drys quickly.
It can be shook out easily because it’s light.
It has latex on the bottom, so it stays put-no pad required.
I love the geometric pattern & rich blue color.
It adds some modern flare to my rustic traditional bathroom.
It comes in 4 colors, and a variety of sizes. I chose the “blue”.

For a more subtle look this grey one is gorgeous.
Before I go, I wanted to share the rug I bought for my sister for her birthday. She loves pigs and she put this at the foot of her kitchen sink. So cute.

I love that rug, Julie! I mean is there anything better than Target? & you know I’m obsessed with your lovely bathroom hehe. Happy Tuesday.

Thank you, Paige 🙂
The blue rug is fab! I have been thinking about buying that very pig rug.
Oh my!! 🙂
hey girl love the rugs! So cool!
I know, right! 🙂
I love it. It goes great for a total nice look in your bathroom.
Thanks, Liz!
Just started following you a few weeks ago. I love your style and look forward to your post . The rug looks great.
I look forward to your comment, thank you, Paula!
Which furry brown beast were you referring to? The man or the carpet he is standing next to? ?
Definitely NOT THE MAN, lololol!!!!!!
Shows how a small change like that rug builds on the overall improvements. Knowing you (from this blog), you’ll feel that patch of blue is lonely…and soon we’ll see a coordinating accent piece! Can’t wait!!
Maybe, Laurel!! 🙂
I have the same rug in my bathroom in grey, and I love the size of it and the graphic pattern, plus the fact that it is non slip. I love that you placed your blog name on your husbands back, that is funny!
I love your ideas all the time but have to say, not crazy over the navy rug. I like the pattern, but not the navy with the black and wood tones………but maybe once other pieces accents are brought in I’ll have a change of heart!
Thanks for being honest, Jean! The “black” is actually dark brown. I’ve always loved brown & blue together. I bet you might like the light grey!
I love it! This rug has two of my favorite things – navy and a bold geometric pattern!
I just love this restroom. What type of vanity light fixture did you choose? I’m renovating our sons bathroom.
Thank you.
Hi Allison, we just have recessed lights over our vanity.
Do you have any suggestions then? You are so creative. ??
Hi Allison! Are you interested in a decorating consult? Here is a link to how that works: http://redheadcandecorate.com/line-decorating-consultation/. If not, I would check out Home Decorators Collection on line. They have a huge selection of light fixtures for bathrooms! I hope this helps. I have been attracted to “industrial style” light fixtures for years!
Yes I use the Home Decorators Collection, as well. I was just wondering what angle you would take. I am a retired designer. I always like looking through others eyes and their creativity.
Thank you for your timely replies
Sure, Allison! I would need photos of your bathroom to give you more of a detailed response. I’m not sure what to suggest if I haven’t seen the room.
