Not only do I love cats, I’ve always been fascinated by Cattails.
While my hubby and I were out and about today, I asked him to pull over.
Then I asked for his knife.
The funny thing is, he didn’t even question me.
I had no idea what the yellow stuff was that I’ve been noticing all over the fields in Michigan,
but I knew I liked it.
I also knew it would go great with the Cattails we were about to cut.
Look at this guy…he’s into it as much as I am!
After we got home I got to work and put our collection together in a vase.
It turned out prettier than expected.
That’s why I had to share it.
I can’t believe it was free.
Now I know what the yellow stuff is.
It’s called Goldenrod.
Turns out it grows all over North America and has 50 different varieties.
I think the brown feather looking things are a type of grass.
We grabbed some of that for contrast.
3 Cattails topped it off perfectly.
Not bad for free!

Beautiful.
Thank you, Wendy! 🙂
Stunning! I think you are a creative marvel !
I think you are stunning 🙂
Beautiful and I love the price!!!
Very pretty! I did the same thing this year…goldenrod and cattails.
The other plant looks like Phragmites australis. There is a native phragmite to Michigan, but that one may be the invasive species. So take a lot of it out of the ground. lol
(I did pull a bunch and then used some in a wreath. A win-win!)
