I hope this idea doesn’t make you BOARD.
It’s actually kind of funny, almost to a strange level.
I had this board in our garage for months from another project that failed.
No one will ever know what the other side of this board looks like! NO ONE.
(okay maybe Rick & the girls, but that’s it)
I decided we had to either throw it out, or make something, because I was tired of it taking up space.
So…I came up with this “DIY Party Sign” idea.
Get your sunglasses out.
Now hold on to your party pants. Let me explain further.
I’ve been going on for weeks about my weight loss and low carb plan.
I was on it when I made this.
Now you know WHY I chose the word EAT.
I was hungry!!!!
I almost considered this a “fail” because I sent photos of it to my sister, and she didn’t care for it.
She thought it was going to stay on our island.
Not the case. This was strictly intended for a party.
She was very relieved.
What I want YOU to know, is that you could do this for any “word”.
You could do a name, a heart, a star, the word LOVE.
You wouldn’t have to use this size of a board, and Christmas lights are cheap, or free if you have some.
It would be cute in a teen’s bedroom, or I also envisioned it behind a drink station, or bar.
So, now you get the idea.
This is how:
The first thing I did was sand it a little, and then stain it with my favorite mahogany colored stain using a cloth.
After it dried for days, I drew the word EAT in cursive with a marker.
Then I hammered in some copper nails that I spray painted black.
They were meant to work as “pegs” to hold the light strand.
So, we had our little party, and our guests loved it.
Here is proof!
Can you find the pineapple?

I love your sign. glad I didn’t think of it first as I would’ve tried to staple the lights on and electrocuted myself. your way makes so much more sense!
Oh my goodness…I’ve tried that. Although I used big staples and a hammer, lol
