Welcome!
Today I have to admit that I am slightly nervous.
Our Winter Beach Lodge Living Room is complete, so I am ready to reveal more of what I have done.
So, why am I nervous?
I’ve never done this before, silly.
I’m not trained in design, nor do I study the rules designers use.
I go by my gut. That’s it.
So, my makeovers are truly a piece of me. They are part of my heart. Out there. In the open.
For everyone to see. To judge. To love. To not love. EEK!
Last weekend my family visited us and they saw the transformation.
They loved it.
I hope you do too.

First up, is my first ever, pillow.
I do not sew. I do not want to sew.
This pillow requires no sewing.
Perfect.
I must tell you that I found this pretty fabric at a thrift store for $3.
I instantly fell in love with the colors.
The yellow, the deep grey, the fabulous turquoise.
Also a pattern I don’t see everyone using over and over.
Then I recalled a blog post from a gal named, Virginia.
She posted “How to Make a Pillow with Glue” back in April.
I knew I had to try it one day.
After I found this fabric, I knew it was time.
Perfect colors for our “Winter Beach Lodge Living Room”.
I only made one, and will use it for an accent pillow. The kids love it.
Virginia’s pillows are fantastic. If you really want to try this, I suggest following her tutorial up there.
When I made mine, I used Liquid Stitch and I measured, but not perfectly.
HOLD IT!
Did you notice how cute that pillow looks on that chair?
Do you recognize the chair?
Maybe this will jolt your memory…
Last Winter, I decided to reupholster my Grandfather’s chairs.
I asked which fabric you liked better.
They both received votes, but in my heart, I knew I was going to change it again.
I wasn’t completely satisfied yet.
Our “Winter Beach Lodge Living Room” allows for more space because I sold our HUGE sectional on Craig’s list.
These chairs fit in better now.
I knew I wanted them to shine. I knew they needed more than just new fabric.
So I got to work, and painted them black.
Next, I had to find fabric that would give that wow factor.
I remembered a blanket my Mom gave us that had a big rip in it.
How cool to put my Mom’s blanket on her Dad’s chairs.
I went right over the old fabric and used the filling inside of the blanket for my pillow.
See! It was meant to be.
Do you like it?
It’s chic. It’s fun. It will fit in perfectly, along side it’s sister.
Next week I will be revealing part 3
I hope you will stop by.
We are getting very close to the full reveal.
