There he is…
my big tree lover. This picture has become a tradition at our house. My hubby enjoys getting the tree just as much as I do. Can’t you tell with that smile? Love him! This tree was heavy. The biggest one yet. I would have settled for a smaller one. Much easier to decorate, and cheaper. It was 3 against one. I lost. She’s 12 ft. tall. Here is proof that he’s obsessed with how tall the tree is. He got out his handy dandy measuring tape… What’s up with that? lol!!! Decorating the tree has always been one of my favorite things to do.
It all stems from childhood. Watching my Dad get out that big cardboard box of decorations every year was such a treat. I often think this is where my love for “decorating” began.I remember him laying the old-fashioned light bulbs on the living room floor, letting me help find the bad bulbs. Then my Mom, brother, and sisters all joining in to decorate. Such a wonderful memory, and important to me that our girls have the same memory, and continue the tradition. Check out Bobby’s sock’s!
I remember that Santa Claus that is by me there. I loved him so much. I must have been on break here… get to work Red!Okay… I’ve cried enough for one morning after studying this photo for an hour. Time to move on. Hope you enjoy our 2012 version… Accidents do happen… one of our favorite ornaments broke this year. The Tin Man was given to me by Rick’s Aunt in memory of my brother who loved the Wizard of Oz. It slipped out of my hand.
It’s okay… we cheered up after we found his replacement.
The ornaments are special, and they remind us of our past.
When a special one breaks it reminds us how fragile life is.The memories you make with your family are what matter most. Don’t forget the party is still non-stop, and my little Santa helper, Jen, just featured a bunch of partiers over at her place… Just click here:
