Which do you like better?
I recently ran a poll on my
redheadcandecorate.com Facebook page found here: Holy flying fabric!I had a great response…
96 comments and I bet it’s continuing as I write. Thank you to everyone that voted. I think it’s time to end the suspense… My Mom was telling me recently that her Dad (my Grandfather whom passed away before I was born), Cyril, purchased the chairs at an estate sale for $16 total about 70 years ago (that was a lot I think). When my Mom was out on her own, she bought the chairs from my Grandfather for the same price.
The chairs stayed with our family… When my brother passed away in 1995 (story found here)…
My Mom & Dad got the chairs. My Dad reupholstered them with a nice striped pattern, but it slowly became worn. When Rick & I purchased the house we are in now (2009), my Mom gave me the chairs. I have been told through the years that my Grandfather, my Brother, and I all share a special “decorating sense”. So you can imagine how much I love these chairs knowing that they both loved them as well. My Dad was kind enough to help me put the black & white fabric on you see above. So, yes all you sweet Facebook voters… “B” wins!!!!! (“A” may have won the vote, but the redhead is the one that decorates this house…sorry guys! 🙂 This picture shows the difference very well I think…
I have lots of black, white, and brown in my house- I needed some color. One of the facebook voters described the fabric perfectly…
“vintage feel with a current vibe”. Love that! Another voter said the color brings out the wood-right on! You won’t see this fabric on every chair in a magazine, and you may think it doesn’t flow with rest of my decor… I’m all about not flowing, It’s different and it’s totally RCD. Here’s how easy this was…
and I used my 40% coupon at Joann Fabric’s. Did you know you can look them up on line and print them out? I was thinking the extra might be used for a table runner on Thanksgiving…
just fold it to the size you need, put some candles and other Fall decor on it and you are done. We all have unique style and taste…
adding color to your home will help you stand out from everyone else that does the same thing over & over.Don’t be afraid to be different! Love you Papa, |
