Happy Labor Day weekend, everybody. You know what that means… BACK TO SCHOOL. I have mixed feeling about that. Sad, happy, excited, sad again. Mostly, I get sad. I love having our girls home over Summer break, and I will miss them.
Looking back on Summer while we were up North renting a get-a-way, I couldn’t help but take note of the decor. You see, the cottage we rented was built to look like an old school house. In addition, the owners decorated with “school supplies” including civil war/math books, desks, instruments, chalk boards, and even a wall mounted pencil sharpener. While I was being lazy on the sofa, I studied the living room details and the pencil sharpener stood out to me. I thought, how clever. I wrote it down in my notes as a possible future idea.

Maybe I missed the school bus and all of you have one already? All we had before this “Wall Mounted Pencil Sharpener” was an electric one that makes a loud buzzing noise when in use. It also breaks off my pencil tips. I take my pencils very seriously and it drives me crazy. I like sharp, strong tipped pencils, don’t you? I use them a lot. Especially for blog notes.
Doesn’t it look super cute? Totally “old school” 😆
This “Wall Mounted Pencil Sharpener” was only $10 and installs in 5 minutes. It’s quiet, and works exactly like I remember in elementary school. It’s extremely sharp and fast. I chose to put it under our “DIY Paper Roll Message Board“. It’s the perfect spot for the entire family to use when in a hurry working or doing homework. No need to even ask the teacher!
To install, first we searched for the studs in the wall with stud finder. We couldn’t find one where we needed it, so we used toggle bolts. These worked amazingly well, and have kept our pencil sharpener in place for 2 months now.
It’s seriously one of the best $10 investments I have ever made. I know pencil sharpeners really aren’t on our most important list, but this changed my life, lol.Tags: back to school, kitchen, office, pencil sharpener Posted by
