Part one explains more details, and will answer most questions.

Sandless Floor Refinishing

Our Before & After Photos of our Kitchen

Rick and I decided we would do most of the wood floors in the house.

We have 3 levels in our home.

The middle level is all wood and the top level has wood up to the bedrooms, and in the bathroom only.

So, we decided to do the middle level only, minus our bedroom/bath because of the big bed.

Moving the furniture is the hardest part about this process.

I actually pulled my back out both times 🙁

So…here we go.

The guys arrived at 9am ready to rock.

We got out of their hair for most of the day.

They were finished by 6pm.

This time it cost $1000.00

Totally worth it to us.

The floors were dull, dry, and “orangey” looking.

Here’s some before & after photos I took for you.

You can even see Chris taping off our stair spindles.

I caught a shot of the machine they use to clean the floors before they apply their special sealants and top coats.

They taped off my painted rug for me in our powder room really nicely.

They really know how to pay attention to detail.

Here’s the cute booties we all got to wear after we got back home.

Rick kept telling me I have pointy feet.

No I don’t, Rick!

We love our floors.

They are so much richer and smoother looking.

Even walking on them is a pleasure.

Sweeping is easier too because the dirt floats on top rather than settling in the cracks.

Incredible! You must be so proud of those floors. Just love following all your projects. Is there any down time for your pretty red head ? ( yes, you too are a “napper”. Love that. ) I thought your place was wonderful to begin with……keeps getting better. Guess I have no choice but to stay tuned. : )

Hi! I live in Up State NY but used to live first road North of Leonard and went to school at Oxford :o)

Love the floors, just had my tenant house kitchen and dining room done by Stanley Steamer. They charge about $100.00 per room. It’s just a top coat but should last a year with just damp mopping, no detergents.

It’s an alternative for those who just want one room done or are on a limited budget. :o)

Hi, Love the job! Just had a single floor done by Stanley Steamer for $100.00 . Top coat that is supposed to last up to a year with just damp mopping, without detergents. Good alternative for someone on a budget :o)

Is this available in Canada and if so, how about Nova Scotia

  9. Tracy says:

So how many rooms did they do for a $1,000. Just curious, as my floors need this as well. Thanks!

  10. Is the anyway to seal and shine laminate flooring.?

just wondering if you’re still happy after a few months of living…how has the finish held up?

  12. Michelle says:

Thanks for the inspiration, Julie! We are having our floors done this Friday. Just wondering how you keep them clean. We don’t want to make the same mistakes we’ve made in the past.

    • Julie Fiato says:

They should give you some pointers on cleaning when they come, Michelle, but they told us just to use plain old water. Nothing else! It works too!!

  13. Dorothy says:

can you send the info of who did the work. I remember a while I heard about this.

  14. Penny says:

Your floors look stunning. I recently moved in to the home I inherited from my grand parents. My grandfather built the house himself in 1950. All of the floors are oak all from trees he cleared off the property and then milled himself! I am going back and forth on these floors. I got a quote of 10k to strip and refinish them. I was wondering if you can tell me approximately how many sq ft you had done for the 800.00 and 1000.00?

  15. Chris says:

Hi, I am seriously looking into doing this and I was wondering how your floors have held up. Has it been 3 or 4 years for you?
    Thank You 🙂
