Copper Striped Candle Holders by Decor Adventures

Hi friends. It’s Jessica from Decor Adventures. Can you believe it’s mid-June already? We are loving the outdoors these days, and our transforming backyard space, which I just started showing you on my blog recently. We had a new flagstone and reclaimed brick patio put in and are working on the landscaping now, so we’ve been spending lots of time getting the yard made over from top to bottom.

Today I’m here to show you an easy decorating project you can do to lighten up your outdoor or indoor space too. I made simple copper striped candle holders for the patio, that are perfect for warm summer nights.

Copper Striped Candle Holders

Here is the how to. First, on your next trip to the dollar store, pick up some glass vases. They always have a great selection there and at only a buck a piece, it’s easy to get supplies for your newest decorating project. You’ll also need painters tape and spray paint. That’s all!

The best part about this project, besides that it costs so little, is that you can make any pattern on the glass that you want. Since they will be spray painted, create any pattern and use any color paint. I made simple stripes, but I bet some swirls or vertical lines would look nice.

Taped Vases

After that, get your spray paint going and let them dry for a bit. Since it’s so warm now, the paint tends to dry quicker, but make sure you don’t rush it, you want them to be dry. {That’s our new patio in the background.}

Then simply remove the tape, fill with a candle or even flowers and you have a nice and affordable decoration for indoors or out. Since copper has made its way back in home decor, I decided to use that color. But you can use any paint you have on hand.

If I make more of these, and there is a high chance I will, I’d add even more color to them and paint a larger area. The options are endless. And I think they’d make a cute hostess gift. Since they are tall, the candles are sure to stay lit and can light up a walkway or steps, like I pictured here.

DIY Copper Striped Candle Holder

An easy and pretty, super quick decorating idea for your outdoor space this summer! Have you ever made vases or candle holders from the dollar store? Maybe some of these will find their way to your patio this summer too 🙂
