Affordable Christmas Decorating

Photobucket

Happy crazy Monday after Thanksgiving day!
Don’t you just wish for a couple more days of no school/work?
A few more days to get the decorations out,
or to just watch a movie with the kiddos?

Here I am last week with my 2 favorite girls waiting for Mr. Turkey.

Time sure does fly.  Christmas break is around the bend.
That means…

time to DECORATE!!!

Before I share some $ saving tips…please stop over at our party.
So many cute ideas over there, and lots of giveaway goodies.
Just click here and I will escort you over there in my decorating limo ;)
I’m mailing out those bulbs this Friday to the lucky winner.

Have you gotten your tree yet?  We are going next weekend.
Let me tell ya it’s one of my favorite days of the year.
Rick likes it too.  We have a blast.
Until then I thought I would deck out our table with some cheap ideas.
There are some great finds out there this year that won’t break the bank.
Check this out.
~
The runner is wrapping paper from Michael’s.  Just fold to the size you need and tape it underneath.  No washing afterward, just toss it :)

The plates & bowls I found at the $1 store.  They remind me of Martha’s with the beaded edges.  My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I found them.

The chargers are from Hobby Lobby.

The napkins are regular generic paper napkins I folded in long rectangles.

The pinecones and branches are from our yard,
and the cranberries are leftover from Thanksgiving.

The bulbs are old, and everything else I had.

When deciding what to use, try to stick to 2 or 3 colors.
Use different sized patterns like here the checker board against the stripes.
Also, don’t forget to add in a natural element like flowers, or branches.
Even a piece of fruit will work.
I usually walk around the house gathering whatever I have on hand.

Before I go…
I wanted to let you know that I am working on 2 wonderful makeovers in our home.
The kitchen is still in the process of a few tweaks,
and the basement is almost finished.
It’s mostly just paint, but a HUGE difference.
I hope it may inspire you to try some paint in your own home.
Hopefully I will be able to get these posts out soon,
along with plenty of Christmas cheer.

Love,
