While I wait for the plumbers to arrive…

Well…finally the wait is over for me.  The Corian for our bathroom is being installed tomorrow (Home Depot), but the plumbers come today to take out the sink and faucet.  It’s a 3 day process because we are also doing the girl’s bathroom, the laundry room tub, and the kitchen sink that cracked.  We figured best to get it all done in one shot, but they do it in steps.  Tomorrow they will come and actually install the counters with the under mount sinks attached.  Then the last day, the plumbers come back and hook up the faucets.  I am slightly nervous as this does bring up old memories of our Granite Nightmare (found here which was not thru Home Depot).  Trust me, I am ready this time.  I should also mention Home Depot is running 24 months no interest right now.  I split it up so it’s not so hard to pay. Yes…I am a Home Depot fan!  Our Kitchen guy was so nice to work with.

Here is a picture of what they look like this morning:

I cut off the poor purple tulip! 🙁
Dishes and all!  At least they are clean.  We tried to save $ by keeping this original sink when we did the Granite.  I liked that it wasn’t what everyone else is doing-undermount.  Bad choice.  It cracked…not much, but now we are risking more by changing it out.  I’m not going for cast iron this time either.  Too heavy for the Granite and I don’t like the way it stains.
This counter is a disaster.  Just peeling like crazy.  I will NEVER paint another counter I promise.  You can see here I did manage to sand the oil rubbed bronze handles to copper like I mentioned.  I can’t wait to reveal this entire redo.  Soon!!
That is our “paint” sink in the laundry room.  It doesn’t look too bad here…but trust me, the bottom is destroyed with paint.
Here’s the girl’s sinks…they are so lucky to have their own.  That’s Daphne on the right, and Val on the left :), such love muffins they are…the counters never looked so clear of clutter!!  Hey Val-where’s all your jewels and make-up?

So while I am waiting for the plumbers to get here…I started another project I have been wanting to do for years!  I’m painting this (ugly orange) wood dresser we use to store all of the girls necklaces and trinkets.  What color do you think I should paint it???
