You see, my husband and I recently went on vacation for the second time, to the same location in one year, because we needed it-I mean loved it THAT MUCH. I decided to share all the details with my readers because it’s just too good not to. I found our new favorite vacation spot by chance just by looking at a map 😊. I guess you could say I found our little paradise the old fashioned way. We took a risk the first time we visited in October of 2021, but our second time around this past May of 2022 was definitely a much anticipated event. My husband and I aren’t into exotic beach vacations, but we are into quiet ocean waves, and romance. The last couple of years have been stressful for everyone, so we figured why not share this wonderful spot because there are plenty of rentals in the area (although this particular one is very unique as you’ll see).

What’s nice about this location, is that it really does seem like not too many folks know about it. Rick and I felt almost like we were on the beach alone, and in fact at times we really were. Maybe we had good timing, or got lucky, but it was such a blessing not to have to worry about too many people. We wanted to hear the ocean waves, not little Susie or Johnny (no offense to Susie or Johnny).

I enjoyed decorating with just a string of blue lights and a few battery operated candles…it really looks nice with the lights low while listening to the ocean.
Order In or Save Money Making Your Own Meal in the Mini-Kitchen
One of my favorite features about this unique rental in North Carolina is that we can prepare some of our meals or desserts in the unit. I admit it, getting dressed up can “be for the birds” some times 😆. This bird likes to stay home, and just enjoy my hubby & the peaceful sounds of the ocean coming right through that sliding door. I got lucky one night when Rick treated us with a seafood salad with garlic bread. By the way…Instacart was my go-to delivery service for groceries. If you aren’t in the mood to cook…just order in and take your time listening to music, or watching a movie in bed all cozy.
Go Out for a Quiet Romantic Beach Dinner
After a restful sleep and some peaceful rejuvenation 😉 we were finally ready to get dressed up a little and head out on the town (look out!). Kure Beach is a very small town located South of Carolina Beach. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from in both areas, and we are just beginning to figure out which ones are our favorite. So far, “Havana’s” is our favorite fancy outdoor restaurant and boy do we have fun there. Our favorite appetizers are the oysters and the fried calamari.
Rick and I truly had such a sweet time just focusing on “us”…not the kids, not the house/pets, not work. We got off our phones, off social media, had lots of talks, intimate moments, and pizza & ice cream make a great first meal of the day after sleeping in…just so you know.
Shop in Local Quiet Kure Beach Shops & Go take Your Photo at Fort Fisher
On our final days of 8 (I always do 8 so you can have 1 extra to enjoy) we visited local quiet Kure Beach shops for a few souvenirs, and also went site seeing at famous Fort Fisher. Fort Fisher is absolutely beautiful, and the large rocks on the coast make it a perfect location for an easy photo shoot.

Yes! Michaelangelos in Carolina Beach. Don’t get the large though. The crust was too flimsy. Their mediums (which is in photo) are the best just like NYC style ♥️

We have vacationed many years at Carolina/Kure Beach. I really like the fact that the area is less hectic than the OBX has gotten in the past years. Fort Fisher and the Aquarium are our favorite “go-to” places. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Oh wow that’s so cool! It just so happens I’ve been to Wilmington a few times now. First to get my grandson settled into his dorm at UNCW. Then the following year to go and help move him to his new dorm apartment with 3 other roommates. I then took a drive down to help him get some of his things into a storage unit and I will be going again within the next few weeks to get him set up in his new off campus apartment. He decided to stay over spring and summer break because he has a good job and doesn’t want to give it up. I am kind of heartbroken, as I expected him to be home at least one more summer. I have never had the time to explore while down there but it sure looks like a real pretty place. I do plan to go and spend a few days with him over this summer and hopefully I’ll get to see the beach and area, so I might take you up on the place you stayed, we will see. Thanks for sharing!
