Fresh Pine & Birch Tree Centerpiece

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

I thought I was finished decorating for Christmas, but then I was inspired by my sweet friend Paula, from Virginia Sweet Pea. After I saw Paula’s tutorial on DIY centerpieces, I just couldn’t resist heading outside in our yard to see what I could find. I knew I had Pine trees to clip from, but what else could I find in freezing cold Michigan??? Surprisingly, I came across fresh finds all over the place. I hope you enjoy my last minute “Fresh Pine & Birch Tree Centerpiece” tour…

Up above you’ll see everything my husband helped me gather from our yard (I recently hurt my left arm and have tennis elbow without playing tennis 😳) including fresh Pine tree clippings, red dogwood twigs, dried brown vines, birch tree limbs & bark curls, and green ivy vines that were still very much alive.

Well, shiver me timbers…can you believe how pretty this glorious Christmas creation turned out? I was absolutely SHOCKED. So were my cats.

I was so shocked, I couldn’t stop taking photos of it 😆. My favorite part are the birch tree bark curls. We started calling our cat “Birch” since his real name is “Forest”…Birch Forest it is!

I’m a tad late this year to be doing a tutorial on this lovely lady in green, but you can bet your candy canes I’m going to give a full detailed tutorial on how I created this Fresh Pine & Birch Tree Centerpiece next year.

One quick tip I want to tell you is that it really was simple using these Floral Foam Bricks. I basically just stuck everything in (including the birch tree bark curls from our yard), watered it, and put fairy lights on it. BOOM.

Beautiful wish I would of seen this a week ago . Keep in mind for next year . Full time Frontline Nurse so not much extra time this year . Inga, It curls on it’s own. If you want smaller curls you can simply split the curls just by peeling a piece off. Our tree is filled with them right now. They peel right off! The centerpiece was an afterthought after I saw another tutorial just the other day as I mentioned in the post. Hopefully you caught my full home tour posted weeks ago. It’s full of many ideas. I also have 9 years worth of ideas in my holiday section located here: https://redheadcandecorate.com/category/christmas/

I love the centerpiece (no access to birch here though) & I love the wall decor!!! The two work wonderfully together. How did you acquire the pieces for the wall decor?
