Message in a Bottle Valentine

Valentine’s Day is coming up fast 😳, so I have 2 sweet ideas for you that won’t break the bank, and will really show your favorite peeps how much they are loved. The first idea “Message in a Bottle Valentine” can be used as a unique personalized valentine to give to your spouse, significant other, children, heck even your friends would love it. My second idea is more on a decorating level, but wait until you see these “Faux Acrylic Decorative Storage Boxes” and what I did with them. First up, is this sweet valentine idea…

Who needs to spend $5.00 on a card when you can give your lover this unique “Message in a Bottle Valentine” for under $1.00 each. Not only is it way more affordable, but in my opinion, it will mean more to them because you wrote out the message. Don’t they look so darling? If your spouse gave this to you for Valentine’s Day this year, wouldn’t you be so excited to see what it says??? I know I would (hint: Richard!)…

Here’s what I wrote in mine to Rick…I didn’t get too personal 😉, but YOU CERTAINLY COULD. On the other hand, you could get really funny, or even set up a trail of them around the house with one leading to the other. Maybe I’m getting too corny.

In case you missed it, last week I arranged a cozy “Romantic Rose Mantel” and the “Message in a Bottle Valentine” fit in so nicely with my dollar store mirror wine tray.

I can see our little message bottles sitting on our dresser for many years to come and on days when we miss one another, all we have to do is take another peak at our secret message ♥️.

How to make “Message in a Bottle Valentine”

This is so simple you guys. First, check your local dollar store or Dollar General for the mini glass bottles. I found mine in a Canadian dollar store. If you can’t find them there, I know Michael’s has them. If you rather order on line here’s what I found (complete source list is at bottom of article):

ORDER MINI GLASS BOTTLES FAST HERE

To assemble your message bottle, simple cut a small square piece of paper and write your message on it. Be sure the little note isn’t larger than your bottle. I practiced a couple times until I got it just right.

After your message is complete, just roll it up tight and tie with any red ribbon/yarn you can find. Even thread would work, but probably not great for long term.

Lastly, add a dollar store mini heart and lock it up with the cork. Boom!

Last week, I mentioned my new favorite decorating “helpers”, these fabulous versatile “FAUX ACRYLIC CLEAR DECORATIVE STORAGE BOXES” my husband gave me for Christmas. They are so fun to play with I can’t stop.

For Valentine’s Day I decided to add faux roses to them, but just think of the endless options. From candy, to big red hearts, to photos. I mean seriously…I will be using these for every season. Think: Easter eggs, tulips, pumpkins, Christmas ornaments with fairy lights. Okay, stop me!

Look how gorgeous the faux white, pink, and red roses look in them (find the source to these gorgeous roses below). It reminded me of a cake. Hmmmm 🤔
