Romantic Rose Mantel

It’s finally time for some ROMANTIC DECORATING ♥️ ! Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, so I thought you may like a few simple, inexpensive, romantic ideas. I am just so flipping’ excited about this “Romantic Rose Mantel” I swear I could do back flips off my step ladder! This dreamy mantel looks like it cost a million bucks to create, yet it only cost me $20.

First, I gotta admit, I was scared. Yep…terrified actually. I wanted this to work so badly, but doubted myself from the start. The good news is, I didn’t let that self doubt stop me. In fact…I let it fuel my fire 🔥. If you take away anything from me and this blog, take THAT. Go ahead, have that self doubt, everyone does. The important thing is to NOT LET IT STOP YOU. Fuel that fire baby.

What is a Rose Mantel/Rose Wall?

The first time I came across a “Rose Wall” was in a magazine and thought it was the prettiest idea ever. All those roses look like 3-D wallpaper, don’t they? I thought it would look especially beautiful in the bedroom, or bathroom. I literally searched our entire house for that perfect wall to use for my rose wall, but couldn’t find it. All of our walls are taken 😆. Well, after the gorgeous green Christmas mantel came down, I said to myself, “Wait a minute, self. This is it…here’s your wall for the roses!”

So, I went ahead and ordered the faux roses. I had no plan 🤔, and really didn’t know if I was ordering enough, or if the tape would work, or if the roses would be realistic, or if the tooth fairy was real, or if the Amazon truck would run over our mailbox…heck I just didn’t know anything, but I did it anyway.

Once the roses came in, which was quite fast, I knew I was definitely on to something because for the price, they were STUNNERS. Of course I love fresh real roses, but sometimes it’s okay to just have a little faux fun. They really are beautiful fake, too.

How to Attach Romantic Rose Mantel

I immediately tried hanging one one of the roses on the wall with the tape I mentioned above after I cut off about 1/2 of the long stem it came with. Next, all I had to do was wrap it around the rose giving it a little room to breath around the stem. It worked like a charm.

TIPS: If you go too snug around the stem with the tape, the rose doesn’t seem to like the tape as much. Give that stem some room by making a “U” around it, and I promise the rose will stay put. Also keep the green outside tape on the white tape until you are finished with the entire wall. This will help you if you need to adjust the roses which is easily done with that tape I mentioned above.

You may be wondering how I got all of the roses so even. Well, as you may know, I am not a measurer. I do most of my measuring by eye. If you would like to try this, start with 1 rose in the center of the mantel, then put one on each side of that rose spread out to cover the length of your mantel. Next, go up to the next level, and put roses in the center of the ones below. Do this until you reach the level you prefer.

Wouldn’t this be beautiful on a large rustic wood board that you could remove and save?

Hey, look…you can play with the roses too. I tilted mine a little and it looked like it was raining roses 🤭.

After I finished the wine, I mean wall, I wanted to add a few more extra touches to really set the mood for my husband and I to have a nice romantic place to get cozy.

I started with fairy lights and greenery on the actual mantel, and then I decorated the floor with things I already had trying to stay within a white rose Valentine’s Day theme. Most of my sources are below.
