The DIY Housewives went into the garden and they came out looking pretty darn cool. Now I’m not referring to their make-up or their outfits 😆 . I’m referring to their “Cool Gardening Ideas”. I don’t know about you, but I like being the “cool” lady. I want to be cool darnit, and these indoor & outdoor garden tips will help me get there.
Here’s my contribution…

I love, LOVE the view of the water! What in Heaven’s name are you feeding those hostas??
Hi Dianne! They are just very old. Over 20 years old so quite large. The deer don’t like these, but they like our others! So, do the bunnies ? I only show off the un eaten ones ?
Love your Hostas, must have just right climate for them.We had several Hostas on KY property, had never seen them but they grew pretty much wild anywhere there. Wonder if we could grow them here (western CO) which is very dry climate. Yours are fantastic, look so bushy and healthy.. love huge leaves.
Do you have any problems with mosquitoes having water right behind your back yard? Has water ever flooded your property?
Enjoy your wonderful backyard.
Hello JaneEllen! Hostas would probably grow there, but would require watering. The mosquitos come out after dusk but don’t seem any worse with the water compared to other homes. & no flooding, just swans, ducks and turtles ?
That stump planter was a brilliant idea Julie!
Thank you, Maryann! How was Chicago? I hope you had fun! ~ Julie
