Entry Ways with the DIY Housewives

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

We have to get into the house, one way or another, right?  I mean, we aren’t coming through the window or through a secret trap door, right?  Whatever that entry area is for you- in your home, it tends to not only get used a lot, but it get’s judged a lot 😥 .  Oh I know…forget those judge-y types that look at every fault and judge your home from the entry way.  I have and do, believe me!  BUT…doing what I do, I actually enjoy playing with our entry way(s).  I actually like to freak people out a little.  Let them wonder is my motto.

So, today I am joining the talented DIY Housewives and we are all sharing one of our entry ways.  Some of the housewives are sharing front foyer areas, and some are sharing their laundry/mudroom area.  All have the common trait of being decorated & designed by a DIY Housewife (meaning budget friendly).

AMAZING DIY ideas for the entry way!

As I mentioned earlier, my contribution today is our DIY Wood Sidelight Shutters.  These are so cool, and we only spent $75 making them using real wood we stained, and real pipes to give them that industrial look.  We also include a full DIY tutorial here:  DIY SIDELIGHT WOOD SHUTTERS.

If you’re interested in that pretty deep blue rug (which I am very happy with by the way) you can find it HERE.  It is now my favorite rug in the house.  Sometimes I just sit on it.  Look at the big X’s in it.

DEEP NAVY BLUE AREA RUG

Now, as far as the busiest entry way…well, THAT is under construction.  We just removed this horrible wall paper I picked out 8 years ago and I have big plans.  Stay tuned for updates.

Okay, so here we go…check out all of my friends entry ways below…have fun!

    Hey Julie!
Wherever I click all I get is a new tab page with a jpg. of the click, no link to the sites. Am I doing it wrong?

    • Julie Fiato says:

Hi Laura, I am so sorry! No, it was my pin it button causing it. They are good now! Thank you for letting me know.

  2. laurabun says:

Uh, Jamie? Hate to keep bothering you, but the click still goes to a png and the inLinkz says 404-page not found… guess it’s just not my day…

    • Julie Fiato says:

Laura, Are you going all the way down to the images at the bottom of the page? The graphic in the beginning is not clickable. I have checked the images that are at the bottom, and they all work for me. ~ Julie

Hi Laura, I see navy area rug on your wood floor. Is this hardwood and, if so, no problems with the rug? Thank you.

    Hi Julie

I noticed that you changed the runner on your staircase. Did the white carpet get too dirty too quickly or was it just a decorating change.
BTW…we recently followed your lead and painted the handrails and spindles on our staircase. We love it, thanks for the inspiration.
