You didn’t think I could let that little black cabinet side to the left of my cooking area stay empty did you? No way! It’s the perfect spot for us to hang…
Wait for it…
This cute little “Magnetic Knife Strip“. You can call me SOUS CHEF REDHEAD NOW!
Honestly, it’s one of the best kitchen gadgets I have ever owned. I like it so much, I even ordered one for a friend of mine and his bride for their wedding gift. I included some beautiful Wusthov knives, and it made a perfect gift for them, because the enjoy cooking together.
Just look at that baby shine.

The Magnetic Knife Strip is simple to install, and comes with screws. Depending on the surface you are screwing into, you may need anchors.
As far as the knives go…you can not purchase a better knife than a Wusthof in my opinion. I do a lot of food prep daily, and this Wusthof Classic 2 Piece Knife Set we purchased for our daughter for when she cooks sushi, is the bomb.
Do you have an area in your kitchen that could hold a magnetic Knife strip? How about on a wall, or backsplash? If you have a tiled or brick backsplash you could use adhesive to hang the strip. I’ve even seen people use the side of their refrigerator for one. Hey, inside a cabinet would work, too. The main idea is that your knives are protected from getting hurt amongst other utensils, and you have fast access to them. Plus is looks like you are a CHEF! 🙂
I’ve made a list for you if you are interested in getting either part of this look in your kitchen, or if you want to go for the gusto and get it all. Everything is listed below.

I put one of those on my husband’s work bench for his tools. Much better than digging in a tool chest for screwdrivers.
We did that, too!! 🙂
Hi Julie. I totally agree…..a magnetic knife strip is the BEST EVER!!!!! Can’t believe I survived all of these years without one in my kitchen (got mine 2 years ago). And yes, they make awesome gifts. Thanks for your blog…I love reading it.
HAPPY SPRING!!!!!
Aren’t these just the best? I have my knives with the blades pointing up, however, just to keep the sharp bottoms away from near the counter space where we work. I don’t know which is the “correct” way, but it seems like it’s safer….just “food for thought”… LOL
