Happy Valentine’s Day weekend!
Our teen girls came home from school and FREAKED OUT when they saw my “Romantic Bedroom” set up. I’m not talking just a little freak out, I’m talking a big freak out. First there was a big “What the???” Then came laughing, then rolling on the floor, then screaming. It was so crazy. I walked away saying, “Well, me and Pop never do anything like this anyhow!”
Their response: “Yah… SUUUUUURE!!!”
I guess I can understand, I remember feeling the same way. My parents weren’t exactly romantic by any means, but once in a while I would see my Dad kiss my Mom good night, and it really was FREAKY.
However…I do think it’s so important for a husband and wife to show their affection towards one another in front of their children no matter how FREAKY it gets. Their children will not only know that they came from love, but they will know what real love looks like. It’s a win, win.
So, get kissing folks. Life is short, find your lover and kiss him, love him, and don’t hide it.
There is no greater gift than love!
Speaking of LOVE.
I hope you enjoy how I put everything I’ve been working on for Valentine’s Day together into our “Romantic Bedroom”. I didn’t get too crazy, but I think it’s cute, cozy, and full of love.
The rose petals are not real, but I still think they look nice. I found them at Michael’s, but you could cut up some of your own from red cloth, or use real. I have actually found fresh rose petals in florists for very little cash.
The rest of the design ideas you can find below, including our original “Budget Bedroom Makeover” which includes the information on the light fixture and comforter.

I love it all. Happy Valentines Day!
Oooh la la! Love every little touch – very classy and romantic!! And our kids are so used to the “I love yous” and smooches I am not sure they would freak out BUT… there’s still time. 😉 “Ewwww – you kissed on the lips!!”. Haha. Pinned this!
My girls are @ that age where they freak even when we hug! 😉 So funny!
Very nice! Your girls may “ewww” it now, but when they’re grown they’ll appreciate how important it was for their parents to be affectionate.
Right on, girl!!
