It was a sunny, Saturday afternoon, and we were driving down M-24, here in South East Michigan.
There are 2 thrift stores I regularly visit, and a couple antique shops too.
Personally, I find antique shops to be way over priced.
It seems to me, that the stuff looks like it came from the thrift stores anyhow.
Don’t get me wrong though…
thrift stores can over price things too.
So…on this day, my poor hubby was the victim of his girls forcing him, not only to drive to the thrift store,
but we bribed him to come in with us as well.
He quietly walked behind us as we spoke of what we were looking for.
All the while, I’m positive he had visions of Bass Pro Shop in his handsome head.
As we searched the isles I became more and more disappointed.
You come in on high, and its possible you will walk out on a low.
Not today.
Thanks to Rick.
He was behind me as I picked up a really “homely” water basin.
I contemplated getting it and possibly painting it.
I put it back down, and moved on with discouragement settling in.
Then he says, “What about this?”
Whoooooooo Nelly.
I backed up…
My eyes lit up, my mouth opened wide, and my heart began to beat faster.
I ask, “Where the hell did you find that?”
It was right below the one I picked up {bad Julie}.
You see…I think my discouragement got the best of me and I moved on too quickly.
Okay…so the water basin is divine.
How much?
The set was $7.99.
Plus I had a coupon.
SCORE!
Wait…it’s an Italian Water Basin?
Holy Mama meatballs.
It’s an Italian Water Basin.
You have an incredible eye, Richard!
This is an awesome find.
The creamy white water basin made decorating easy.
It now sits on our kitchen table, and will for a long time.
Here’s some photos from when I played with it.
Our hydrangeas were really peaking at the time.
No matter where I put it…it worked.

I really like the Serene – 275274 color for my front door. It’s a really pretty blue!
I always love a red door–so Sophisticated is my pick…
I love your water pitcher. What a great find!!
I thought it was cute you talking about Bass Pro. We’re from Ontario, driving to Chicago today, and I’m very proud of my husband, he drove past Bass Pro and Cabelas today. I’m only joking, because once we get through Chicago he will stop at every hunting and fishing store in Wisconsin and the other end of Michigan before we return to Canada through Sarnia. Rick will get his day in Bass Pro!
Bye the way, you may have answered this before but where did you get your fish weather vane? It would be perfect for our home by the lake too.
Thanks, Have a great weekend,
Gerri
lol, Gerri! He deserves it, that is for sure. The weather vane was here when we moved in. Have no answer for you there, but I do love it. It use to make a ton of noise in the wind until our lawn guy secured it. The girls thought it was a ghost! 😉
Loving the Passionate for the front and garage door and shutters on the house we just moved to!
Ahhhh, I want to paint my front door so badly! Love the water basin 🙂
Bass Pro Shop is my husband’s Target 🙂
lol, Whitney!!
