No one wants to talk about them. They’re ignored…like they don’t even exist. They sit in the dark, dusty, dirty corner like it’s in time-out.
Until…EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY!
GET THE PLUNGER!!!! WHERE’S THE PLUNGER!? I NEED THE PLUNGER!!!!!
I know I’m right, it happens at our house a lot. I won’t mention any names…
That plunger is a hero if you ask me. He’s like a king warrior fighting the fight to keep us, well, just to keep us from flooding the house with poop!!
Sorry…there just isn’t any other way to say it.
Go find your plunger. Or better yet, pick up a new one at the grocery store. They only cost $5. (I’ve seen them at the dollar store too.)
Then use your favorite decorated tape (washi or duct), and decorate it. I did a pattern on mine with strips running horizontal. It was simple & fun. I actually did it on a road trip. Yep, this plunger went on vacation with us.
Oh, and don’t forget the saucer underneath. Mine is from the plant section at the grocery store. They sell them separate. Then I spray painted it to match.
Everyone needs a “Pretty Plunger”! (and this would make a fun housewarming gift)
Stay tuned for more from my new fun “Spring Cleaning” series…

Besides my blog, I also do all the behind the scenes office management stuff for our family-owned business which just so happens to be a plumbing supply shop 🙂 So..I’m thinking I need to make up a bunch of these pretty plungers and place them around the showroom. Genius idea, Julie!
Sounds awesome, Val!!
ONLY YOU would come up with decorating a plunger!! Your such a hoot. I laugh with every one of your blogs.
Yeay!! I was hoping someone would laugh at this!!! Thanks, Pam 🙂
Haha cute! Let’s face it -plungers should be beautiful 🙂
I hope you will share it with our Link Up – Idea box:

Thank you, Mila!!
Love the idea. How about spray painting the handle white and winding red tape around in a candy cane effect for Christmas?
Love it!!
Love that! Nothing wrong with romanticizing a plunger. You gotta have one! Thanks for bringing us something so useful and bringing a smile to our faces!
So, I’m still eyeballing that pic of the dress. Ready to give it up yet?? LOL I’ve looked high and low for something I like but this is still the only one!
So the plunger…quite interesting! I have just about finished gathering the supplies I’ve been looking for to make the containers for mine. I am going to be making 3, one for each bathroom. Not too keen about them being seen in the room so mine will be enclosed. I’ve actually been saving metal coffee cans to make them.
I do love the tissue holder and q-tip holder you created for the bathroom. Suck a pretty and cute idea on the q-tips.
Thank you, Shirley! Have fun with those projects. The wedding dress canvas is from a furniture store here in Michigan but they are no longer in business.
