Winter Wood Slice Wreath

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Hello Redhead friends and happy holidays. It’s Jessica from Decor Adventures, back to share a fun holiday project with you. We got our first snowfall of the season last night and it has me in the mood to create some fun and festive things. I put together a winter wreath just for you and the best part about it is that you can use it to decorate from now until January!

Rustic Wood Slice Wreath

Here is how you make a wood slice wreath. First, the supplies. You’ll need:

  • A miter saw
  • Branches
  • A flat wreath form
  • Liquid Nails indoor projects construction adhesive
  • Ribbon or accessories to decorate the wreath
  • Hanger for the back of the wreath form

First, hammer in the hanger on the back of the wreath. It’s easiest to do this before you start. I used a simple saw-tooth one that goes directly into the wreath form.

Next, cut up your branches into thin slices on the miter saw. If you don’t have a miter saw, you can use a hand saw. I didn’t measure the slices, I just eyeballed them on the saw and made cuts. It’s OK if they are different thicknesses, that adds to the charm. Be sure to use all safety measures when using the saw!

Cutting the branches actually goes very quickly. It took me less than 15 minutes to make all of the cuts I needed.

While you are cutting, you can take a break and start to glue on the slices to the wreath form. Then you’ll know how much you need to cut. Use a small dab of liquid nails construction adhesive on the backs and let it dry over night. I put on two overlapping rows onto the wreath, to cover up as much of the wreath form as possible.

Once you have glued on all your wood slices, and let the liquid nails dry overnight, you are done! Get your crafty side out and decorate the wreath with a ribbon or bow.

Now go out for a winter walk and find some free branches of your own. You’ll have a wreath in no time.

  3. It looks so cute. That’s a good idea to decorate our home with wood. I think if you paint the wood slice with different color, it’ll be better.
