Thanksgiving Harvest Tablescape

Green Themed Thanksgiving Table w: Doodled Bench-Simply Gorgeous #green #decor #Thanksgiving

CorningWare & Corelle contacted me last week and asked if I would be interested in decorating our dining table with their products.

I instantly had flashbacks of when I was a little girl in the 1970’s.

My Mom & Dad had CorningWare baking dishes.

They used them almost every day, especially for Sunday dinner.

My Dad would cook his famous baked chicken in the large baking dish,

or his baked acorn squash in the smaller baking dishes.

40 years later, My Dad still has and uses these dishes.

I think I made my point.

So, in the letter, they also told me that if my tablescape was chosen as one of their favorites,

my local CorningWare & Corelle Store would “re-create” it in their store and feature my name as the designer.

Now, that really got my red head buzzing.

I texted my hubby and we planned a family trip to our local store.

I wanted something simple, yet elegant.

I also hoped for something a little less traditional, but perfect for Thanksgiving.

I chose the beautiful, white embossed “Boutique Cherish” Square Dinnerware Set.

They are light, durable, and I can use them every single day, not just Thanksgiving.

The square soup bowls are my favorite.

You may also notice the green beans in my new CorningWare Baking Dish.

The glass cover is perfect for the oven, or microwave.

We also purchased the gorgeous silver salt & pepper shakers you see.

Everyone at the store was very helpful when I had questions.

I even chatted with the gal at the register about my tablescape plan.

Speaking of green.

As you probably noticed, I decided to go with a “green” theme for my “Thanksgiving Harvest Tablescape”.

I used a deep, rich green.  Green bean green I guess you could call it.

Not only did I use green ribbon to “wrap up” my new plates like a gift,

I also added some fresh green beans to the decor.

Apparently, we like green beans around here.

They even have a spot on my “Doodled Bench“.

Michigan provides many natural outdoor goodies this time of year, so I tried to keep the table decor as natural as possible.

I used fresh gourds, pumpkins, apples, leaves, pinecones, and even a few acorns.

Lastly, I baked you a fresh pumpkin pie.

Okay, maybe I baked it, from the freezer that is.

Sure did smell good.

Even Sylvia seems to enjoy the new dishes…

I wonder if she ever tried pumpkin pie?

Love Corelle, have Corelle dishes and they are the only ones I have not broken. I still use mine everyday and they are 36 years old.

  7. Gina says:

Gesh – I just love your house. It’s so gorgeous!

What a great giveaway! I need to add to my dishes after my daughter dropped all my plates on the hardwood floor & they were no more.

  8. Yvonne says:

Love the look! Combining the classic white with an unique shape of dinnerware with the “green” is beautiful. A story: someone I used to work with who had been married for 50 years gave me this advice about dinnerware and love. Men are like plates. Some are like china, pretty but when things get tough, will break. Look for the man who is like Corelle…handsome, but rugged and will stand the test of time.
That’s what I love about Corelle…great patterns, but tough and in it for the long haul.

    Love, love, love the bench!

  9. Samantha says:

What a gorgeous tablescape, I love the contrast of the green you chose against the red cranberries. I also love the Boutique Cherish Corelle dishes you chose, you can never go wrong with classic white.

  10. Julie, I am just positive your table is going to win! It is gorgeous! I’m not sure what I’d purchase if I won but I need some new white dishes and I love the ones you chose.

  16. Eileen says:

Beautiful table Julie! Simple, but bold and eye catching. Corning Glass is practically in my back yard. I’ve gone there several times. During the holidays you can make your own glass ornaments – such fun! You have certainly done a good job promoting their product.

  17. Samantha Lee says:

Your table setting is beautiful! It is very crisp but still invites you to take a seat and share a few tales. I hope they choose your design.
If I won the giveaway., I would probably purchase the Corelle Livingware Winter Frost White set. I’m currently using a mixture of Corelle Spring Blossom Green and Butterfly Gold dishes that I was given from my grandmother. Unfortunately, neither are a complete set so the Winter Frost set would allow me to to have a full table setting but still allow my grandmother’s dishes to shine.

  18. christine j says:

I would love to get the Corelle Squares Simple Sketch 16-Piece Dinnerware Set

  19. I have solid white corelle plates and I thought I’d choose a color, but your white dishes are beautiful and classy! It would be a hard choice, but I’d have fun picking out a new design!

  26. Jane Powell says:

I also would choose the Boutique Cherish. I’ve used the Corelle coordinates with the fruit border as my everyday dishes for years. So long that I don’t remember the name of them. The white would be a welcome change and as everyone has said, they coordinate with everything. Now that I’m older and have arthritis it is so nice to have the lighter weighing dishes that still look so beautiful and stylish.

I love the Boutique Cherish pattern and would definitely choose a set in that design, but I’d also choose salad or bread and butter plates in Sincerely Yours to coordinate. I’d also have to have some of those great oblong appetizer plates as well. I still have pieces of Corelle and Corning Ware I’ve had for years that I couldn’t do without.

  31. Cindy A. says:

What a beautiful table setting. I hope you win. I have Corelle dishes my sons bought for Christmas about 8 or 9 yrs. ago. If I didn’t I might choose the set you did, I really like that. I think I’d start with some of the newer-to me, Pyrex bakeware in red that I saw when I was in an outlet store. I have some Pyrex but just love this red. Got a Corning ware large baking dish in Buffalo at AMA’s in the late 60s Still have some. paid $12.99 does the job real good. love, Dad

  61. Dianne says:

This really brings back memories for me! When I was a young bride, Corning Ware was only sold in the jewelry store, and I registered pieces there, along with my chi
china and silverware. It was, and still is, that special!! You have done a tremendous job of displaying their product. If I were to win, I would probably add to my French white collection.

  62. Rebekah says:

I’ve had these dishes for years and am trying to throw a Christmas dinner party. I don’t have a good charger or placemat option. Are you using the larger plate as a charger? Also, what kind of charger goes with these square plates? I’m stumped.
