Our daughter, Daphne, is graduating 8th grade next week.
It’s truly a bitter sweet time for all of us, especially Daphne.
She is an amazing young lady, with many talents.
One of which, is writing.
Daphne is always searching for avenues to share her gift of writing.
When opportunity finally knocked this past month, she decided to open the door.
Daphne’s teachers announced that they were taking applications for the MC for their 8th grade awards ceremony.
If chosen, not only would she be one of 2 MC’s for the program,
but she would also read a speech that she wrote in front of her peers, teachers, and parents.
I’m not sure how you would feel, but as an 8th grader, I would have ran for the hills.
Not Daphne. She came to us with the idea and we encouraged her to go for it!
I couldn’t resist sharing this amazing speech with you that she wrote on her own (in 20 minutes I might add).
I am also pleased to tell you that her speech was chosen, and she did an amazing job reading it in front of approx. 600-700 people.
I hope you enjoy it and are inspired by it.
Congratulations to all of the fresh graduates out there this month.
