Wine Bottle Light Fixture (Mama is standing on the kitchen table again)

No, Rick and I didn’t drink all of that wine out of those bottles, but I have had several requests asking where we purchased our wine bottle light fixture.  We ordered ours at Pottery Barn a couple years ago before I started painting the cabinets-I couldn’t resist it’s “coolness”, especially up against the brick.  I believe you can still buy it on-line ($399) or one similar possibly for less (try here for $225).One more thing…  The glare from the light bulbs drove me crazy until I figured out how to manipulate a black drum shade I stole from a lamp to hang from the main stem.  Rick cut the metal on the shade and I was able to squeeze it on so it hung evenly (now that was a funny process, our kids are never surprised when they see Mama standing on the table).  We also had a glare from down below when we would eat at the table.  I tried every light bulb there is, tried bigger bottles to fill in the space, even light bulb covers-still too much glare. . . I like to see my meatballs when I eat them!  So, we finally learned from Home Depot that you can buy light diffuser plastic in a sheet and trace and cut your circle to fit your shade.  I just stuck it in there.  Cool.   All we need now is some cheese & crackers. :)
