Light Fixtures with The DIY Housewives

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Those housewives don’t just sit around eating bon bons you know.  They keep busy and you can usually find them updating something in their home.  For example…their light fixtures.  We all know that light fixtures are like “accessories” for your home that will occasionally need updating.  Now, although the light fixture that I am sharing today is NOT a DIY light fixture in the sense that I painted it or made it…however it is a light fixture that we installed ourselves, so I still consider it a DIY project.    I hope you enjoy this month’s version of the Housewives “Light Fixtures with the DIY Housewives”.

    Hi Julie,
Can’t wait to see all you have in store for the remainder of the month and the DIY Lighting posts. I enjoyed this mornings post and am already so motivated to change out a horrific 80’s builder
grade BRASS pendant light in my entryway. I’m wondering if you’d be willing to give me your opinion on it and some tips. I have a few ideas as well. If so, I’d be happy to document the process with photos and you could use it if you’d like…..because I’m fairly certain there’s lots of other ladies with this exact same ugly light fixture who are dying to either burn it or swap it out. ?

    Hi Julie ~

Great lighting ideas today. Do you have any suggestions for a fan with “bling”? Not necessarily hanging crystals, although I LOVE, LOVE that look, but something other than the big eyeball light on a fan that seems to be all over out there. I have a burplap drum light with crystals from Home Depot that hangs over my dining room table and it would be nice to incorporate that into my family room which basically flows into the same area. Any ideas? I really enjoy your site! Thanks.

  3. Goodness, these people are motivated. I need some of your zest. I’m just getting my spring footing! Excited about erupting buds and my vegetable garden, just not ready to start spring cleaning. Send me some of y’alls energy please

Lighting is something many overlook, it can make or break the look your trying to achieve. Your light in my opinion is awesome the frosting on the cake. Who said you can’t pair a rustic ceiling with a blingy dramatic light fixture…totally cool suite!

    • Julie says:

Thank you, Darlene! Totally agree with you. I love mixing rustic with bling. It’s my most favorite style. Have a great day -Julie
