Christmas Front Porch

Uh oh.  I am the earliest I have ever been with Christmas decorating.  Not something I’m really boasting about, because honestly I don’t want to rush you, or me.  I usually don’t get started until after Thanksgiving, but when I received an e-mail from CommercialSilk.com. and I went to their website, I knew I might be in for a treat for our front porch.  Then when my order came, I couldn’t resist getting started.  So, now I get to tell you all about it.  Early.

Welcome to this year’s “Christmas Front Porch”…

Did you hear the jingle jangles as you scrolled over that photo?  I sure did.  It reminds me of a very traditional, classic looking Christmas front porch that you may see in the movies.  I am absolutely in love with these cute pre-lit twin lighted pine trees (see where to purchase them below).  You may also notice that brick floor my husband recently completed.  We will be giving a full tutorial on that soon.

Oh, and then there’s the bright red ornament wreath that is adorned with that big red & white striped bow I made.  The wreath is not homemade, but the bow is.  I simply tie the ribbon just like I’m tying my sneakers.  Then I pull and puff until it looks like a fluffy bow, but not a machine made bow.

Sorry about that little mess at the bottom of the tree (see below), I got a little excited about that big striped bow and forgot to adjust the cord on the tree.  The cord actually hides nicely in the back if you’re not excited about the big striped bow  😆  I really enjoy using bows within my Christmas decor and you will see that in my upcoming Christmas tree reveal.

Also, see how my “DIY Red Painted Bench” stands out here?…nice move, Jules.  Red is perfect for all of the seasons.  I should have painted it red a long time ago.

If we get a little closer you might notice something new I tried this year.  I created little “curls” with the ribbon and then nestled them into the tree where I thought it needed some color.  They remind me of ribbon candy and they are so much easier to do than wrapping ribbon all the way around the tree.  Just cut the ribbon on an angle and curl with your hands.  I hope you give it a whirl.

I also added fresh pine cones, candy canes, and ornaments all from the dollar store.  Oh wait, except the disco balls, those I had.  I found some for you here: disco ball ornaments.

I want to thank Commercialsilk.com for providing these beautiful pre-lit pine trees for our from porch.  I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the greenery.  They are extremely realistic looking and very well made.  There was literally no assembly, just a little fluffing of the limbs.  They are delivered quickly so you have plenty of time.  To make them look even more realistic, I added moss to the urn.

Thanks Jules. Love when you share. This inspires me to start thinking about my front porch. And I love front porches. I feel for anyone who doesn’t have a front porch to give attention to. I think they tell alot about the people inside.
    Happy holidays
