Wilma called and said that they can’t host the Fall dinner party because Fred was fired by Mr. Slate and he’s really crabby. You know what that means. It’s up to you, Betty and Barney to get the house in tip top shape because you will now be hosting. Don’t worry, Betty…the centerpiece you were stressed about will literally take minutes if you try my “Rattan Tray Fall Centerpiece” idea…and I really mean minutes.

Don’t worry guys, the Flinstone’s haven’t taken over redheadcandecorate.com, I’m just being silly. However, if they ever did…I bet they could seriously make this “Rattan Tray Fall Centerpiece” in minutes. It’s super easy and super affordable.
Today, it’s all about saving money and the “Thrifty Style Team” is here to help. ***At the end of this post you’ll notice the rest of the team’s ideas for money saving decorating tips.
So, I found this tray at the thrift store months ago. It looks brand new, doesn’t it? I searched on line and found similar ones here: Rattan Trays.
I was lucky because this one only cost me $5.00, but I know it’s worth more than that because they are very popular these days. People like to use them on coffee tables, shelves, or even to hang on the wall.
I decided to fill mine with things I already have, and things that would look pretty this time of year {Fall}. Check it out now…
Ooooo… It warms up the place immediately and makes me feel like Betty just baked an apple pie and Barney lit the fire. The red votives have always been a favorite of mine especially through the holidays. Then the colors the leaves give off just take it over the top.
It was simple to assemble:
First, I went outside and found some pretty leaves and I placed them in the bottom and over the edges. Then I added the red votive candles. I looked for these on line too, and found some pretty good prices:
Lastly, I added a mini pumpkin (see him in there?), a few apples, and some real pine cones. That was it. Unfortunately, this won’t last more than 24 hours, but you could spray the leaves with water if you need them to last longer. Wilma will probably ask you how you made it…
By the way…if you noticed the chevron afghan in the back ground-I also found that at the thrift store for $6. I brought it home and washed it 3 times 😯 . It’s definitely clean, and the colors in it are perfect for Fall-yippee!
Now, let’s see what Vanessa, Carrie, Charlotte, Erin, Bliss, & Marybeth are up to…
