Lemon Themed Tablescape

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

How rude of me.  I have this tiny little bistro table on our side porch, and I ignore her.  She really is so pretty. Shame on me.

Well, today’s the day for her debut.  I dusted off all of the spider webs (we have a ton from our trees) and I dressed her up all pretty.  The best part is, I didn’t spend a lot of money.

Introducing my affordable “Lemon Themed Tablescape”…

Okay, so why lemons you ask?  I wish I had a definitive answer, but I don’t.  Sometimes my decorating ideas just come out of the clear blue sky and I don’t have a reason.  I do love lemons though.  I never met anyone that didn’t like lemons, have you?

So, I didn’t go crazy with lemons.  Lemons are expensive so that just isn’t something I wanted to do.  However, a few lemon slices, and a few splashes of yellow on the table take it to lemon-icious territory.  Especially on the blue mosaic bistro table.  I splurged on this a couple years ago.  You can find that HERE.

The first thing you may notice on the table, is the yellow candle.  Ooooooo, does it smell lemon-y.  I leave it open all day so the scent continues through the day even when not lit.  It came from Target and it is in fact a lemon scented soy candle called Lemon Leaf.  {You can click on that link to order one, or buy one in stores.  I hope they still have them.}

You won’t won’t believe it when I tell you, but the clear glass plates are from the dollar store.  I love finding dollars store scores, don’t you?  My Christmas table a couple years ago also had dollar store plates on it and you would never know it.  Check that out here: Affordable Christmas Tablescape.

To make those cute lemon swirl garnishes, just slice your lemon into a thick slice, then cut 1/2 way in on one side, and twist.  Love making those.

The fabric I had on hand, so I just folded it and made it look like a runner.  I know it has a few threads hanging off the edge, but that stuff doesn’t bother me.  Here’s an affordable runner I found on-line : Yellow Checkered Runner.  The napkins rings were just part of my fabric that I cut and taped together.

I’m sure you probably realized by now that I used Queen Anne’s Lace for the flowers.  A few of those pretty gals grow in our garden every year and I always like to bring a few in.  They really are so pretty and you can even find them along the road this time of year.  People ignore them, lol.

Last, but not lemon least, the pillows add a special softness.  I found a cute yellow and white checkered pillow cover on-line HERE if you are interested.

Lemon Table Ideas

Rick and I ended up eating our lunch out here.  We were both in our paint clothes, but we didn’t care.

    Me Again Julie:
    I am so intrigued by your little blue table. I have an old wrought iron side table of my Mum’s, I wanted to fix it up, so my husband & I made a top for it with mosaic tiles, a lot of work, but it looks really nice now. I love lemons too and the table is so cheery, the way you curled the lemon slice on the plate is so cute. I also am going to use one of my wine glasses for the lemon and daisies, Love all your ideas. We finally have 80-90* weather in B.C. now, one extreme to another.
    Hope you are all well. PS. That picture of your son coloring the rocks was so nice, he is a handsome boy.
    Cheers, Bette
